Sam died on March 31st, 2020, peacefully, at the Midland Regional Hospital, Portlaoise. He is formerly of Leetown Glencarse, Perth, Scotland and is predeceased by his dad Samuel. Deeply regretted by his loving wife Bertha (nee Kenny, formerly of River Street, Clara Co. Offaly), daughter Rachael, sons Christopher and Michael, mother Catherine (Rena), brothers Steven and Mark, aunts, uncles, brothers in law, sisters in law, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends.

Moate, Ballinakill, Laois

Fr. Charlie passed away peacefully on March 29th 2020, in the loving care of his close friends and the staff of Avantara in Billings, Montana, U.S.A.

Predeceased by his beloved parents Martin & Mary Anne (Kerwin); his brothers Paddy, Billy, Martin, Jimmy & Tommy; his sisters Katie (Phelan), Lizzie (Delahunty) & Mary (Delaney), and his nieces Margaret & Anne.

He will be sadly missed by his nieces and nephews, sister-in-law, grandnieces, grandnephews, great-grandnieces and great-grandnephews, his many cousins, extended family and a wide circle of friends in Ireland and the U.S.A.

Fr. Charlie’s funeral will take place in Billings, Montana.

A Memorial Mass will be arranged at a later date to celebrate his great life

Hogan. Joe Powerscourt, Abbeyleix Rd.. Portlaoise and formerly Cloonagh, Ballyfin, 31st March 2020 Peacefully at Portlaoise Regional Hosp. Predeceased by his brothers Liam and Martin and sister Bríd. Deeply regretted by his brothers Noel, Vinny Michael and Frank, sisters May, Peggy, Robin, and Anne. Nephews, nieces, cousins, relatives and friends.

Private family funeral will take place in SS Peter and Paul’s Cemetery, Portlaoise. Covid-19 protocol in place. Social distancing to be observed. A memorial mass will take place at a later date. Please use online Condolence book. The family would like to thank you for your understanding at this difficult time.

Sadie Power (née Kennedy)
Castleknock, Dublin / Abbeyleix, Laois

Formerly of Abbeyleix, Laois. Passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving children Richard, Sarah and James. She will be forever cherished and very sadly missed by her grandchildren Liam, Conor, Lucy, Mary-Kate and Bríon, her daughter-in-law Michelle, sons-in-law Scott and Andrew, brothers Jim and Dick Kennedy, sister Brigid Lawlor, nephews, nieces, and all her family and friends.

May Eternal Light shine upon her and may she rest in peace. Amen.

Due to current restrictions a private funeral will take place and a memorial service will take place at a later date. Those who would have liked to attend the funeral, can leave personal messages for the family below. We would like to give our sincere thanks to the wounderful staff of Beaumont Hospital.

Darragh Fennell
Glenbrook, Ballyroan, Laois / Portlaoise, Laois

Darragh Fennell, Glenbrook, Ballyroan and late of Coote Terrace, Portlaoise. Died on the 30th March 2020. Predeceased by her father Jimmie Fennell. Deeply regretted by her heartbroken partner Pat (Whelan) her two adored sons Patrick and Ted, her loving mother Regina Fennell, sisters Eva, Kizzy (Lewis), Jac (Billings) brothers John, Diarmuid, George, Evan, Colman and Stewart, sister-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces and nephew, Laura, Jamie and the Whelan family, relatives, friends and colleagues at Shaws Portlaoise.

Given the exceptional climate and to protect everyone who knew Darragh, a private funeral with immediate family only will take place.  The family thank you for your cooperation, understanding and support during this sensitive time.

Breda Murray (née Sheeran)
Colt, Ballyroan, Laois

Breda Murray (née Sheeran) Colt, Ballyroan, Co. Laois. Died March 29th 2020. Peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family. Breda is predeceased by her husband Bernie and baby son Eamon. Deeply regretted by her loving daughters Denise and Aileen, sons Bernard and Sean, daughters-in-law Liz and Anne-Marie, son-in-law Fergus, much loved Gran to Chris (and his partner Anne-Marie) Ben, Tara, Charlotte, Rebecka, her sister Mary (Delaney), brothers, Tom and Dinny, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, her close family friend Catherine Cranny, neighbours, relatives and a wide circle of friends.

Breda’s Funeral will take place privately.

Covid 19 Protocol must be in place at all times. Breda’s family would like to thank you for your understanding at this difficult time and very much look forward to a memorial Mass for Breda at a later date.

Newpark, Portlaoise, Laois/Galway City, Galway

Devaney (Diviney), Newpark, Portlaoise and late of Forster St, Galway, 28th March 2020, peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, at the Midlands Regional Hospital, Portlaoise. Former member of the teaching staff at Patrician College, Ballyfin. Bernard (Ber), dearly loved husband of Phil and loving dad to Ronan and Aidan. Beloved brother of Paddy and the late Maura. Sadly missed by his sorrowing family, daughter-in-law Thelma, precious grandchildren Sam, Laura and Kate, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours, former colleagues and wide circle of friends.

Given the exceptional climate, and to protect the welfare of everyone who knew Ber, a private Funeral with immediate family only will take place. The family thank you for your cooperation, understanding and support during this sensitive time.
