WATCH: Laois comedians making videos in lockdown to brighten Coronavirus gloom

Two Laois men have teamed up to create some funny videos aimed at lifting the Coronavirus gloom.

Portlaoise’s Jimmy Kavanagh and Mountmellick’s Matthew Snelgrove are two Laois men who are stuck together in Dublin.

Jimmy, brother of musician Kean, is an actor and writer with Club Valentine Comedy.

While Matthew, who is originally from Dover in England, is a scientist working on his PhD from their home.

But taking some time out from that, the lads have shot two videos so far that have received a lot of love online.

Jimmy explained: “There’s a lot of grim and upsetting news out there.

“We’re two Laois boys trapped in Dublin during lockdown, and we’ve been using our weekends to create some comedy videos to hopefully give people something to laugh about.

“So far we’ve relased ‘Wine Guy’ and ‘Post-Show Q&A’, which have both already received a lot of love on Facebook and Instagram.

“We’ve got a lot more on the way as well, and we’re hoping to release at least one a week.

“‘Wine Guy’ is a parody of the kind of person whose personality is built entirely on the fact that they like wine.”
