Clough, Ballacolla, Laois

Paddy Cleere, Garryduff, Clough, Ballacolla, Co. Laois. September 2nd 2020. At the Regional Hospital Portlaoise. Sadly mourned by his wife Teresa and his family Noreen and Pat, son in law Michael, daughter in law Olivia, grandchildren Lee, Eanna, Jason, Kevin and Niamh, sisters in law, brothers in law, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends.

Due to the COVID-19 Directive the funeral is restricted to family and close relatives only, you can express your condolences on the condolence page below. Funeral mass in St. Canice’s Church, Clough on Sunday at 1pm followed by burial in Clough Cemetery.

Joan Kirwan (née O’Connor)
Davitt Road, Mountmellick, Laois

Joan Kirwan (nee O’Connor) Davitt Road, formerly of Harbour Street. Died Thursday 3rd of September, in the care of the staff of The Midlands Regional Hospital, Portaoise, surrounded by her loving family.

Predeceased by her husband Michael. Sadly missed by Paula, Helen, Michael, Marie and Rita, sons-in-law, daughter-in-law, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, family, relatives and friends.

Due to Covid-19 restrictions, Joan’s funeral will be for her immediate family. Requiem Mass on Saturday at 11am in St. Joseph’s Church, Mountmellick with burial immediately afterwards in St Joseph’s Cemetery. People are welcome to attend in the precincts of the Church and Cemetery during the services.

Joan’s Requiem Mass will be live streamed on www.mountmellickparish.ie.

Brendan William (Bill) Doheny
Grennan, Attanagh, Laois

Peacefully at St Luke’s Hospital Kilkenny. Deeply regretted by his loving sister Gabriel, brother Dan, niece, nephews, uncle, grandnieces, grandnephews, relatives, neighbours and friends.

Bill will be removed to the Church of the Assumption, Ballyouskill on Friday evening. In keeping with government guidelines regarding public gatherings a private Funeral Mass will take place at 11.00am on Saturday. This Mass can be viewed on this link:

Reginald (Reggie) Handcock, Middlemount House, Rathdowney, Co. Laois. September 2nd 2020. Peacefully at home with his family. Sadly mourned by his loving wife Pat and his son Wesley and Niamh, his brothers John and Bertie, nieces and nephews, relatives and friends.

Scully,John, Ridge Rd., Portlaoise, September 2nd 2020. Passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family in the tender care of the staff of Fennor Hill Nursing Home, Urlingford.

Beloved husband of Ann and dearly loved father to Martina, Elaine, Celine and John Paul. Cherished grandfather to Holly. Deeply regretted by is loving family, brothers Michael and Tom and the late Owen, sons-in-law. Bros in law, sisters in law. Nephews, nieces, relatives, neighbours and friends.

Given the current exceptional circumstances and to protect the welfare of everyone who knew him, a private funeral, with immediate family only, will take place at 12 noon on Friday in St. Peter and Paul’s Church, Portlaoise and will be streamed on the webcam http://www.portlaoiseparish.ie/web-cam/. Burial afterwards in Oakvale Cemetery, Stradbally.
