John Street, Cashel, Tipperary/Borris-in-Ossory, Laois

Connolly (nee Guerin), John Street, Cashel, Co. Tipperary and formerly of Borris-in-Ossory, Co. Laois. December 5th 2020, peacefully at her daughter Elaine’s residence. Mary (in her 92nd year), beloved wife of the late Gabriel. Deeply regretted by her loving family Elaine, John and Peter, son-in-law Seamus Hammersley, daughters-in-law Brideen and Ann Marie, grandchildren Lorraine, Mark, Owen, Ciara, Ben, Sarah, Anna, Jack and David, great-grandson Kai, sisters-in-law Phyllis and Pauline, nephews, nieces, relatives, neighbours and friends.

Due to government restrictions on Covid-19, family only Funeral Mass takes place on Tuesday in St. John the Baptist Church, Cashel, at 1pm and can be viewed on http://funeralslive.ie/mary-connolly/ followed by burial in the adjoining cemetery. Family flowers only, please.

Peadar Walsh
Donore, Kilbricken, Laois/Maam, Galway

Formerly of Walsh’s Bar, Kilmilkin, Maam, Co. Galway. Peadar, peacefully, in the wonderful care of the staff of Patterson’s Nursing Home, Roscrea. Predeceased by his wife Patsy. He will be sadly missed by his daughters Connie, Deirdre and Berny, his sons Bernard and Peter, son-in-law, daughters-in-law, grandchildren, great grandchildren, sister Bernie(Westport), brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives, friends and neighbours.

Removal from his son Peter’s house in Maamgovna on the Tuesday, 8th December, to The Church of the Nativity, Kilmilkin, for Funeral Mass at 2.30pm with burial afterwards in Breenane Cemetery. Due to restrictions on funeral numbers Peter’s Mass will be for family only.

Peter’s family understand and appreciate that people would like to attend and offer their sympathies but cannot. Family flowers only, donations, if desired, to The Alzheimers Society.

Angela Cronin (née Phelan)
Rathfarnham, Dublin/Borris-in-Ossory, Laois

Cronin, Angela (née Phelan), late of Rathfarnham, Dublin and formerly Shanboe, Borris-in-Ossory, Co. Laois, passed away peacefully, after a short illness, at home surrounded by her loving family on the 4th of December 2020.

Beloved wife of the late Seán and cherished mother to Neil, Jeremy, Suzanne, Gillian, Louise, John, Karol, Thomas, and Alanna; she will be very sadly missed by her sons, daughters, sons-in-law, daughters-in-law, her seven grandchildren, sisters, brothers, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, grandnephews, grandnieces, and all of her extended family, neighbours and friends.

Due to current government/HSE restrictions regarding public gathering a private funeral will take place, those who wish to leave a message of sympathy for the family may do so in the “Condolence” section below this notice, thank you. Anne Mulcahy (née McEvoy)
Cherrygarth, Portlaoise, Laois/Ballacolla, Laois/Nenagh, Tipperary

Late of Aghaboe, Co.Laois and Dolla, Nenagh. Peacefully, at home. Predeceased by her beloved husband Tommy and sons Christopher and Tomas. Deeply regretted by her loving son Brian and daughter Deirdre & by Deirdre’s partner Tom Grace, granddaughter Enya, brother Canice and sisters Peig, Teresa, Joan and Bernie, brothers in law, sisters in law, nephews and nieces, cousins, neighbours, relatives and friends.

Due to current guidelines a family funeral will take place. Funeral cortège will leave her home in Cherrygarth on Monday at 11.30am to arrive at SS. Peter & Paul’s Church, Portlaoise, for Requiem Mass at 12 noon, followed by burial afterwards in Lisboney New Cemetery, Nenagh, arriving at approx 2.30pm. Those who would liked to have attended but cannot, can view the livestream of her Mass on www.portlaoiseparish.ie.

John Madden
Turfarney, Rathdowney, Laois

John Madden, Surrey and formerly Turfarney, Rathdowney, Co. Laois. November 30th 2020. Predeceased by his brother Paddy and his sister Margaret. Sadly mourned by his sister Mary (USA), nieces, nephews, neighbours, relatives and friends.

Noel Davis
Emo Park, Ballybrittas, Laois

Unexpectedly, at his home. Dearly loved by his wife Marie, sons Liam, Brian, Cormac, Fergal and Noel jnr, daughters-in-law Mary, Geraldine, Natalia, Eileen and Siobhán, his grandchildren Eoghan, Ailbhe, Anna, Eimear, Aoife, Cian, Ted, Rua, Jim and Sophie. Also missed by his brother Thomas and sister Kathleen (King) New Ross.

Due to the Covid 19 restrictions, a Private Family Funeral will take place. Removal from Maher’s Chapel of Rest, Portarlington, on Monday at 11am, travelling via the Old Pound and his residence, arriving St Paul’s Church, Emo, for Requiem Mass at 12 noon. Burial afterwards in the New Cemetery, Emo. People are welcome to stand along the route to the church, in the churchyard and in the cemetery with social distancing being observed.

Tom Caldbeck
Clonbroc, Rathangan, Offaly/Mountrath, Laois/Rathangan, Kildare

Formerly of Ringstown, Mountrath, County Laois. Peacefully in his 96th year in the excellent loving care of Oghill Nursing Home, Monasterevin. Predeceased by his sister Peg and brothers Charlie, Rich, Rob and Frank. Deeply missed by his loyal neighbours and friends, niece Betty (Carter), and nephew Robert and families and cousins.

Due to the Covid 19 restrictions, a private family Funeral will take place. Removal from Maher’s Chapel of Rest, Portarlington, on Friday at 1.10pm, arriving Rathangan Parish Church for Funeral Service at 2pm. Burial afterwards in St Patrick’s Cemetery, Rathangan. People are welcome to stand along the route to the church, in the churchyard and in the cemetery.

Teresa McMahon (née Troy)
Bracklone Street, Portarlington, Laois

Peacefully at St Vincent’s Private Hospital, Elm Park, Dublin. Deeply regretted by her loving husband Michael, brothers Michael, Ciaran, Joe and Thomas, uncle Liam, aunt Breda, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, extended family, neighbours and many friends.

Due to the Covid 19 restrictions A Private Family Funeral will take place. Removal from her residence on Friday at 11:10am arriving St Michael’s Church, Portarlington for Requiem Mass at 12 noon. Funeral afterwards to St Michael’s Cemetery, Portarlington. People are welcome to stand along the route, in the Churchyard and in the Cemetery with Social Distancing being observed.
