Gardai investigating following ‘a number of thefts’ in Laois in recent days

Gardai are investigating following a number of thefts around the county in recent days.

Borris-In-Ossory, Clonaslee and Emo – as well as the Offaly border area of Cadamstown – have all fallen victim to crime.

A jeep was taken in Borris-In-Ossory while a trailer and diesel was stolen in Clonaslee – with a John Deere Gator 4 wheel taken in Cadamstown.

All of these incidents occurred last night – Sunday evening.

They say: “We are investigating a number of thefts from rural locations around our Division overnight.

“Thefts in Borris in Ossory (Jeep), a trailer and diesel in Clonaslee and a John Deere Gator 4 wheel in Cadamstown.

“Report any sheds in area you may have concerns about.

“The 4 wheel John Deere Gator stolen which also had two glass doors fitted.”

In relation to Emo, a theft from a car was reported to Gardai on Sunday morning.

They say: “Its great that we can all get out again and stretch the legs (between showers).

“Plenty of activity around our public amenities is good to see and welcomed once we all stay safe and remember the health guidelines.

“Can we please remind people that there will always be those looking for opportunities to ruin our day out particularly around locations where cars are parked.

“We are investigating a theft from a car in Emo this morning.
