Portlaoise, Laois / Bray, Wicklow / Blackrock, Dublin

Mariette (Marie) Connor (née Moore, formerly Murphy) of Portlaoise, Co. Laois and late of Bray, Co. Wicklow and Blackrock, Co. Dublin, passed away peacefully, in her 88th year, on Friday 2nd July, 2021 in the tender care of Droimnín Nursing Home, Stradbally, Co. Laois. Beloved wife of Bill and the late Eugene F. Murphy, much loved mother of Brónagh, Declan, Margaret (Midge), Gabrielle, Brendan, Cormac, Damian, Dermot and the late baby Kevin and loving sister of Kate, Tony and the late Michael; she will be sadly missed by her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, sons-in-law, daughters-in-law, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Seamus (Jim) Downey
Closeland, Ballybrittas, Laois / Monasterevin, Kildare

Seamus, formerly a member of An Garda Síochána, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving and devoted family. Predeceased by his father Paddy. Sadly missed by his wife Margaret, daughters Emma and Hannah and his grandson Paddy. Deeply regretted by his mother Kathleen, sisters Eileen, Gráinne, brothers Declan, Pádraig and Joseph, his mother in law, brothers in law, sisters in law, uncle Fr. Joe, aunt Nellie, nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours, friends and colleagues.

Due to Covid 19 restrictions, a private family funeral will take place, with up to 50 people attending in the church. Reposing at his residence on Monday afternoon from 3pm. Removal on Tuesday at 1pm to arrive to St John’s Church, Killenard, for 2pm Requiem Mass, followed by interment in the adjoining cemetery. Sympathisers are welcome to stand along the route to the church and in the precincts of the cemetery grounds. Social distancing to be observed at all times. Nancy Henry (née Moore)
Sarto Park, Kildare / Ballickmoyler, Laois

Formerly of Ballinakill, Ballickmoyler, Co. Laois.

Sadly missed by her loving husband David, son Damien, daughter Aishling, sisters Claire, Peggy and Kathleen, brothers-in-law Vincent and Frank, daughter-in-law Claire, nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours and friends.

Due to current Government guidelines regarding public gatherings, a private family funeral will take place with Funeral Mass on Tuesay morning at 10am in The Church of Our Lady and St. David, Naas. Nancy will be laid to rest in St. Corban’s Cemetery, Naas.

Mary Downey (née Lawlor)
Bray, Wicklow / Laois

Mary Downey (née Lawlor) of Bray, Co. Wicklow and formerly of Trumera, Co. Laois, passed away, suddenly, on Thursday 1st July, 2021, at St Vincent’s University Hospital, Dublin. Predeceased by her brothers Martin and Richard. Sadly missed by her husband Michael, children Mario, James, Brendan and Sinéad, together with their partners Niamh, Lynn and Fiona, grandchildren Enya, Cian, Julien, Cormac, Katie, Mia and Liam, sisters Anne and Patricia and by her extended family and friends.

Requiem Mass on Monday (July 5) at 11.00am in St Fergal’s Church, Ballywaltrim, Bray (Limited to 50 people) followed by burial in Springfield Cemetery, Killarney Road, Bray. Family flowers only, please. Donations, if desired, to St Vincent’s Hospital Foundation www.stvincentsfoundation.ie 

The family would like those attending to wear colourful clothing.

Patrick (Patsy) Murphy
69 St Brigid’s Square, Portarlington, Laois

Peacefully surrounded by his loving family at the Regional Hospital Tullamore. Loving husband of the late Ann. Deeply regretted by his loving sons P.J. and Thomas, daughters-in-law Patricia and Cathy, grandchildren Dylan, Jacob and Heather , sisters-in-law Joan and Ann, brother-in-law Fran, nephews, nieces, grandnieces, grandnephews, relatives, neighbours and friends.

Due to the Covid 19 restrictions A Private Family Funeral will take place. Removal from Mahers Chapel of Rest, Portarlington on Monday at 11:20am arriving St Michael’s Church, Portarlington for Requiem Mass at 12 noon. Funeral afterwards to St Michael’s Cemetery, Portarlington. People are welcome to stand along the route to the Church, in the Churchyard and in the Cemetery with Strict Social Distancing being observed at all times.
