Margaret Cullen (née Doyle)
Harpur’s Lane, Portlaoise, Laois

Beloved wife of Frank and much loved mother of Patricia, Ger, Frank, Mary, Linda and Helen. Deeply regretted by her loving family, sons in law, daughters in law, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family relatives and friends.

Rosary for family and close friends at 8.30pm Sunday evening in Keegans funeral home. Funeral mass on Monday at 12 noon in SS Peter & Paul’s church which can be viewed on the Portlaoise parish webcam. Church capacity is limited in line with current government guidelines. Please observe social distancing. Private burial for family only afterwards in SS Peter & Paul’s Cemetery. Family flowers only, please. Donations, if desired, to Laois SPCA.

Seán O’Sullivan, Pike Of Rushall, Castletown, County Laois and formerly of Cinn Áird, Liospóil, Condae Ciarrai. October 9th 2021 (peacefully) in the excellent care of Rivervale Nursing Home, Nenagh, Co. Tipperary and surrounded by his loving family).

Pre-deceased by his wife Elizabeth (Betty) (nee Mc Namara), son Michael-Gerard, great grandson Ehsaan, brothers Patti, Micheál and Jimmy, sisters Maura and Carmel.Sadly missed by his sons Patrick, Micheál, John and Fionán, daughters Maura and Anne, daughters in law, sons in law, his sister Eileen and brother Matt, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, nephews and nieces, relatives and a wide circle of friends.

Reposing in Guilfoyle’s Funeral Home, Castletown (Eircode R32 TN84) this Sunday evening from 2 o’c with rosary in the funeral home at 8 o’c. Removal this Monday morning (11th. Oct.) to St Edmund’s Church, Castletown (Eircode R32 KT22) for funeral Mass at 12 noon, followed by burial in Churchtown Cemetery, Castletown.

Seán’s Funeral Mass will be live streamed on the St Edmunds’ Church Castletown facebook page.

(Those attending the funeral home or at the church, please respect distancing guidelines at all time. The capacity of the church is limited to 50%).

Aina Abrama
Beechfield, Portlaoise, Laois

Abrama, Aina, Beechfield, Portlaoise. Peacefully at Tullamore Regional Hospital. October 7th 2021 Surrounded by her loving family. Dearly loved mother to Kaspars. Cherished mother in law to Kristine. Adoring grandmother to Elizabeth, Stefanie and Emily. Deeply regretted by all her loving family in Ireland and Latvia.

Reposing at Keegans Funeral Home on Sunday evening from 5 pm till 6.30pm. Funeral prayers will be recited at 6 pm Interment will take place in Newlands on Tuesday. Covid restrictions still apply, please adhere to social distancing.

Eilish Hughes
San Francisco and Borris Road Portlaoise

Eilish died peacefully on 7th October, (age 83) in San Francisco after a 55 year nursing career.

Predeceased by her parents, Joe and Frances Hughes, her sister Mary Brady and her brother John.

Fondly remembered by her sisters Frances Taaffe (Mullingar), Kathleen Feely (Skerries) and Margaret Quigley (Galway), her brother, Jim (Garrykennedy) by her brothers in law, Jack Taaffe, Kevin Feely, Alo Brady, Tom Quigley and her sister in law Mary Jo Hughes (Portlaoise). Also by her many nieces, nephews and her many cousins.

Funeral arrangement will follow when her ashes reach Ireland.

Bridget Lewis (née Ramsbottom)
New Inn Cross, Emo, Laois

Died peacefully on 7th October 2021. Deeply regretted by her loving husband James (Jimmy), daughter’s, Elizabeth, Catherine, Pauline, sons, Liam and John, brother Liam, sister Ann O’Regan, sister-in-law, sons-in-law, daughters-in-law, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nephew, and nieces, cousins, relatives and friends.

Reposing at Moloney’s Funeral Home, Mountmellick, on Sunday from 6.30pm. Recital of the Rosary at 8pm. Removal from Moloney’s Funeral Home on Monday morning, at 11.25am to St. Paul’s Church Emo for 12 noon Requiem Mass. Burial afterwards in New Cemetery. (House Private Please). Due to the current guidelines social distance must be applied at all times.

Anastasia (Anna) Somers (née Butler)
Churchquarter, Errill, Laois

Anastasia (Anna) Somers (née Butler), Churchquarter, Errill, Co. Laois, October 7th 2021. Former National School teacher. Predeceased by her husband Jim.

Peacefully, at home, in the presence of her family, following a long illness bravely borne. Deeply regretted by her sons Pat and Kieran and her daughter Anne-Marie, her sister Margaret and her brother Seamus, daughter-in-law Noelle, son-in-law Peadar and her beloved grandson Eoghan, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Funeral Mass on Saturday at 10am in The Church Of Our Lady, Queen Of The Universe, Errill, followed by interment in St. Kieran’s Cemetery, Errill. Please adhere to the COVID-19 directive regarding public gatherings. The funeral cortege will proceed to the Church on Saturday morning at 9:40 via Gorman’s Cross, providing an opportunity to pay your respects en route.

Martin (Marty Cha) Delaney
Ballinrally, Camross, Laois

Called to his heavenly home on October 7th 2021, In the excellent care of Patterson’s Nursing Home, Roscrea, surrounding by his loving family.

Reunited with his parents Charles and Teresa (nee Ryan) stepmother Annie (nee Carroll), sister Maureen.

Sadly mourned and missed by Noel, Teresa, John, Michael, Erin, Saoirse and Brian, cousins The Delaneys, Ryans and Carrolls, the many wonderful caring neighbours, all his friends both near and far.

Reposing in his home on Saturday 9th October with Recital of the rosary at 9pm. Removal to St Fergal’s Church, Camross on Sunday for Requiem Mass at 12.30pm. Burial afterwards in adjoining cemetery. House private on Sunday morning. Martin’s Funeral Mass will be streamed on the Camross Community Pastoral Council Facebook Page.

Family flowers only, by request, Donations to Laois Hospice would be appreciated as a mark of his long association with this charity. Boxes will be available at the house and chapel.
