Laois primary school gearing up to host annual fundraising Tractor Run

Clonenagh Tractor Run

The Annual Tractor Run held by Clonenagh National School will take place in Coolrain on Tuesday December 28.

This fundraising event has proven to be a great day out for all of family in previous years.

The school is excited that it returns this year after a break in 2020 due to Covid restrictions.

This year, the Fun Run/Walk and the Tractor Run will go ahead as before. However, the Monster Auction will be postponed until 2022.

The fundraiser is an annual event for the school.

The day starts with a 6km Family Fun Run/Walk around the beautiful countryside near Coolrain village at the foot of the Slieve Bloom mountains.

This is a great way to work off the excesses of Christmas. All ages are welcome to join the Fun Run/Walk.

Registration for the Run/Walk will take place at 11am outside Sheeran’s Pub, Coolrain (€10 for Adults, €5 for 13-18 year olds, free for under-12s), and the Run will start at 11.30am.

Next up will be the Annual Tractor Run which is a sight to behold as the tractors work their way through the village and along the route.

Registration for the Tractor Run (€20 per tractor) takes place at 1pm outside Sheeran’s Pub, and the tractors will set off at 2pm.

All the drivers will be given a memento to remember the day. Refreshments will also be provided on the day.

A spokesperson said: “The annual fundraiser is a very enjoyable day for all ages so come along and join us for some exercise, some tractors and lots of fun!
