Pat (Patrick) Leigh of Killabban, Maganey, Co. Laois, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, on March 17th, 2022, at his home.

Beloved husband of Mary, much loved father of John, Vinny and Catherine, adored grandfather of Cathal, Dan and Peter and cherished brother of the late Michael.

He will be sadly missed by his loving wife, sons, daughter, grandchildren, daughter-in-law Helen, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, cousin, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends.

Reposing at his home, (Eircode R93 ED83) on Friday from 4pm concluding with Prayers at 8pm. Removal on Saturday at 2pm to St. Abban’s Church, Killeen arriving for funeral Mass at 2.30pm. Burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.

Family flowers only please. Donations, if desired, to The Irish Cancer Society and St Vincent De Paul.

Pine View, Stradbally Road, Portlaoise, Laois/Ballinasloe, Galway

Formerly of Creagh, Ballinasloe, Co. Galway. Liam passed peacefully at his home surrounded by his loving family, in his 93rd year. Beloved husband of Ann, loving father of John, Ann and Dermot, father-in-law of Sandra and Emily and adoring grandfather of John Óg, Aoife, Elizabeth and Amelia. Dearest brother of Ollie and the late Amelia (Faulkner), Dr. Ignatius (Iggy), Lily (Dillon), Seán, Maureen (Sr. Kieran), Fr. Mannix S.D.B, Fr. Brendan S.M.A., Nancy (Copinger) and Dr. Patricia (Patty).

He will be sadly missed by his loving family, nieces, nephews, relatives, former colleagues at St.Fintan’s Hospital, the Midland Health Board and HSE as well as a wide circle of friends.

Reposing at the chapel, St. Fintan’s Hospital, Stradbally Road, Portlaoise, Co. Laois, R32 XEN0, on Saturday, 19th of March from 4.00pm to 6.00pm. Arriving at Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Creagh, Ballinasloe, Co. Galway, H53 EH93, on Sunday, 20th for Requiem Mass at 12.00pm followed by burial afterwards in Creagh Cemetery.

John Joe Hegarty, Westfield, Castletown, Co. Laois, formerly of Gortalougha, Inagh, Co. Clare and Middlesborough, England, died on March 17th 2022. Peacfully surrounded by his loving family.

Predeceased by his brother Martin and Parents Paddy and Norah Hegarty.Deeply regretted by his family and friends.

Funeral Mass at 12.00p.m. Saturday March 19th in St. Edmund’s Church, Castletown , followed by internment in local cemetery. House private.

Peacefully surrounded by her loving family while in the wonderful care of the doctors, nurses and staff of the Slieve Bloom Ward at the Regional Hospital Portlaoise. Predeceased by her beloved husband Michael, adoring son Paul and darling grandson Tiernan.

Sadly missed by her loving family Deirdre (Conroy), Orla (Whelan), Michael, Ailish (Mahon), John, Caroline (Treacy), Lorna (Glesson), Marie (Whyte), sister Bridie (Donegan), brother Billy, grandchildren Emmet, Niamh, David, Laura, Michael (jnr), Paul, Katie, Sarah, Michael, Clodagh, Aoibhinn, Jack, Ciara, Grace and Maebh, sons-in-law John Conroy Pat Whelan, Brendan Mahon, Fionán Treacy, Rob Glesson and Ian Pearson, daughters-in-law Jo (Coady), Eva (Delaney), nieces, nephews, sisters-in-law, relatives, neighbours and friends.

Reposing at Maher’s Chapel of Rest Portarlington on Sunday from 4pm with Rosary at 7pm. Removal from her residence on Monday morning at 11:20am arriving St Paul’s Church Emo for Requiem Mass at 12 noon. Interment afterwards in the adjoining Cemetery.

House Private Please. The family would like to thank you for your help and understanding at this sad and difficult time.

Peter Bateson, Old Mooreville and formerly Newtownperry, Rathdowney, Co. Laois and London, March 16th 2022. Peacefully, in the wonderful care of the staff and nurses of St. Vincent’s Hospital, Mountmellick.

Sadly missed by his loving wife Kreena, daughters Margaret and Katherine, grandson Hayden-Peter, Katherine’s partner Jason and children Simone and Oisín, nephew Trevor, niece Christina and great-niece Katy and all relatives and friends. Predeceased by his parents, his sister Kitty and close cousin Peter.

Funeral Mass on Saturday at 11am in The Church of The Holy Trinity, Rathdowney, followed by interment in Rathdowney Local Cemetery.

Owen Boyhan, Aghaboe, Ballacolla, Co. Laois. March 16th 2022. Peacefully at the Midlands Regional Hospital, Portlaoise. Predeceased by his Dad George, his brother George and his brother Michael. Sadly mourned by his mother Elizabeth, his wife Margaret, sons Owen, George, Gary and daughter Olivia, daughters-in-law Olga, Karina and Emily, son-in-law Jack, beloved grandchildren, brothers, sisters, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends.

Reposing on Friday at his home (Aghaboe) from 4 to 8pm.

Funeral Mass on Saturday at 3pm in St. Canice’s Church, Clough followed by interment in Aghaboe Cemetery.

Reposing at his parents residence the Green Roads, Ballybrophy (EirCode R32 Y583) this Saturday afternoon from 2 o’c until 8 o’c with rosary in the house at 5.30 o’c.

Removal this Sunday morning (March 20th.) at 10.30 o’c to St. Canice’s Church Borris in Ossory for Funeral Mass at 11 o’c, with burial immediately afterwards in Derrinsallagh Cemetery, Borris in Ossory. (current Covid 19 restrictions apply i.e. wearing of face masks and refrain from handshaking). If you wish to leave a message of sympathy, you may do so in the section below marked ‘Condolences’.

Paddy Fitzpatrick, Coolagh, Clonaslee, Co. Laois. Died on the 16th of March 2022, peacefully, in the Regional Hospital Tullamore, Co. Offaly. Paddy will be deeply regretted by his relatives, neighbours and friends. May Paddy’s Gentle Soul Rest in Peace.

Reposing at O’Reilly’s Funeral Home, Harbour St., Tullamore, on Friday evening from 6:30pm to 7:15pm with removal to St. Manman’s Church, Clonaslee, via Coolagh Cross, arriving at 8pm. Funeral Mass on Saturday morning at 11am, followed by burial afterwards in St. Manman’s Cemetery, Clonaslee.
