John O’Reilly
Harristown, Carlow/Laois

John O’Reilly, Harristown and formerly Fruithill, Carlow, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, on April 1st, 2022, at St Luke’s Hospital, Kilkenny.

Beloved husband of Statia, much loved father of Áine, John, Brian and Helen, adored grandfather of Katie, Lucie, Molly, Cathal, Dan, Peter, John, Norá, Ned and Bríd and cherished brother of Maura, Patsy and the late Breda, Lena, Rosaleen and Billy.

He will be sadly missed by his loving wife, sons, daughters, grandchildren, son-in-law Vinny, daughters-in-law Niamh and Áine, sisters, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends.

Reposing at his home (Eircode R93 N262), all day on Saturday, with prayers at 8pm that evening. Removal on Sunday at 12.30pm to St Clare’s Church, Graiguecullen, arriving for Funeral Mass at 1pm. Burial afterwards in Killeshin Cemetery, Carlow.

Johanna (Josie) Brown (née Dowling)
Tinnypark Nursing Home, Kilkenny, Callan, Kilkenny/Freshford, Kilkenny/Portlaoise, Laois

Peacefully, on Thursday 31st March 2022 in the wonderful care of the staff at Tinnypark Nursing Home, Kilkenny.

Pre-deceased by her husband Bill. Deeply regretted and sadly missed by her loving family, daughter Helen, son-in-law Kevin, grandsons David and Philip, David’s wife Niamh, relatives, neighbours and friends.

May Josie Rest in Peace.

Reposing at Molloy’s Funeral Home, Callan on Monday, 4th April, from 5pm. Funeral Prayers will be recited at 7pm, followed by removal to St. Lachtain’s Church, Freshford. Requiem Mass on Tuesday morning at 11am with burial afterwards in St. Peter and Paul’s Cemetery, Portlaoise.

Edith Lawlor (née Furlong)
Canal House, Mountmellick, Laois

Edith Lawlor (nee Furlong) Canal House, Mountmellick died April 1st in the loving care of The Staff at Mountmellick Community Hospital.

Beloved wife of the recently deceased William (Bill) Lawlor. Deeply regretted by her loving family, neighbours and many friends.

Sadie Kinsella (née Byrne)
Ballymorris Manor, Portarlington, Laois/Bluebell, Dublin

Formerly of Bluebell, Dublin 12. Unexpectedly at her residence. Deeply regretted by her loving husband Gerard, family Tracey, Lynda, Gerard and Alan, brothers, sisters, her adoring 8 grandchildren, son-in-law, daughter-in-law, partners, extended family and friends.

The family would like to thank you for your help and understanding at this sad and difficult time.

Reposing at Maher’s Chapel of Rest, Portarlington (eircode R32 X5XV) on Sunday evening from 4pm with Rosary at 6pm. Removal on Monday morning at 9:20am arriving St Michael’s Church, Portarlington for Requiem Mass at 10am. Funeral afterwards to St Michael’s Cemetery, Portarlington.

Peacefully at Oak Dale Nursing Home, Portarlington. Beloved son of the late John and Mary Deeply regretted by his sisters Betty Callaghan, (Reary, Clonaslee), Margaret Bailey (U.K.), his brothers Fint (Mountmellick), Pat (Tullamore), nieces, nephews, grand nieces, grand nephews, sisters-in-law Mary and Ann, brothers-in-law, neighbours, relatives, former work colleagues and friends.

Reposing in Moloney’s Funeral Home Mountmellick on Friday from 6pm. Recital of the Rosary at 8pm. Removal from the home of his brother Fint and Mary on Saturday morning at 9.45am to St Brigid’s Church, Rosenallis arriving for Requiem Mass at 10.30am. Burial afterwards in St Brigid’s Cemetery.

Máiréad De Feu
Aghaboe, Clough, Laois/Rathgar, Dublin

The death has occurred of Máiréad De Feu, Aghaboe, Co. Laois and Rathgar, Dublin, died on 30th March 2022 peacefully after a long illness. Predeceased by her beloved parents William and Josephine de Feu and her sister Elizabeth. Very deeply regretted by her partner Patrick, her brothers Liam and Fearghal, her nieces and nephews and all her relatives and friends.

Reposing at Burke’s Funeral Home Mountrath on Friday, 1st April, from 4.30pm, with removal at 7pm to St Canice’s Church, Clough, to arrive at 7.30pm. Requiem Mass will be celebrated on Saturday morning, 2nd April, at 10.30am with burial afterwards in Aghaboe Cemetery. Donations, if desired, to Laois Hospice.

Olive Kennedy (née Kelly)
Boyle, Roscommon/Laois

The death has occurred of Olive Kennedy (nee Kelly), Kelly’s Londis and Aughnagrange, Boyle, Co. Roscommon, unexpectedly on 30/03/2022 in the loving care of her family. Olive will be sorely missed by her husband Dan, her heartbroken children Richard, Aileen (Higgins), Donal, Neil, Karl and Marcus, her brother John (Monaghan), sister in law Catherine, Mary (Abbeyleix) and Mary (Castlewood, Co. Laois), her daughters in law Marie, Anna, Laura and Niki and son in law John. Deeply regretted by her five grandchildren Ailbhe, Eimear, Callum, Sophie and Ellie, nieces, nephews, neighbours and a large circle of friends.

Reposing at her residence at Aughnagrange (F52 CX36) on Friday 01/04 from 4pm to 8pm. The funeral cortege will leave her residence at 11.30am for Funeral Mass on Saturday 02/04 at 12 noon in St. Joseph’s Church, Boyle with burial afterwards to Assylynn Cemetery. House private on the morning of the funeral please.
