As part of ongoing growth, Midland Steel is seeking a Mechanical Project Engineer to assist with the design, development and delivery of automation projects in our Irish and UK sites.

You will be a valued member of one of the most reputable and successful reinforcing steel suppliers currently operating in Ireland and the U.K.

To be successful in this position you will require 2+ years of experience working in the manufacturing/automation industry and the ability to manage small to medium scale jobs efficiently.

Project management experience is essential along with the ambition to progress within a leading manufacturer

Duties

  • Leading in the delivery of projects to help ensure they are completed on time and within budget.
  • Conducting occasional site visits to plan, monitor and closeout project delivery activities.
  • Client liaison for project delivery planning, to communicate tracked changes or developments to the contract and other specific contract management.
  • Ensuring all documentation for the project is current and saved within the project folder.
  • Liaising with the project teams to ensure that health and safety is considered at every aspect of design and to ensure compliance with design specification.

Key Skills & Experience

  • Engineering Degree (mechanical, automation, mechatronics)
  • Minimum two-year postgraduate experience in a manufacturing/engineering environment.
  • Good communication skills, able to interact effectively with clients and colleagues.
  • Able to demonstrate an ability to work on multiple projects or initiatives simultaneously.
  • Strong analytical and interpretive skills, ability to deliver data in a user-friendly and relevant manner.
  • Organisational skills with a commitment to the role and a keen eye for detail.
