In Pictures: Biodiversity chat in Portlaoise Library and Errill Famine Commemoration at Heritage Week

Laois Heritage Week took place from August 13–21 in venues across the county.

It celebrated all the best of the built, natural and cultural Heritage of the county and the communities and individuals who look after it.

The theme for Heritage Week this year is “Biodiversity and Sustainability”.

Over the next few days, we will bring you pictures from all of the events that took place.

Up next, we have shots from an event that was hosted in Portlaoise Library.

Eanna Ní Lamhna gave a talk on biodiversity which was very well attended.

The second event here is a famine commemoration in Errill.

Adults and children headed to the village where they unveiled a memorial seat and a plaque.
