Gardai appealing for information after ‘a number’ of arrests following theft in Laois town

Gardai are appealing for information after a number of locations were burgled from in Portlaoise recently.

Premises were hit by offenders in the Ballytegan and Ridge Road areas of the Laois town.

A number of items were stolen and some of these have since been recovered by Gardai.

Images of what has been recovered so far can be found at the bottom of this article.

Gardai also confirmed that they have made a number of arrests in relation to these thefts.

They say: “Portlaoise Garda are currently investigating the theft of a number of items from locations around the Ballytegan and Ridge Road areas of Portlaoise.

“Some items have been recovered and we are looking to identify their owners.

“We are also particularly interested in speaking to anyone that saw suspicious activity overnight in those areas and the movement of a powerwasher.

“A number of persons have been arrested and are currently detained.
