Portlaoise Macra na Feirme

2022 marks 70 years since the Portlaoise branch of the popular Macra na Feirme organisation was formed.

It is a significant milestone and plans are firmly in place now to commemorate it.

Jean Marnell, Chairperson of Portlaoise Macra, explained how a dinner dance will take place on Saturday November 19 in the Killeshin Hotel in Portlaoise.

Dinner will be served at 8pm and tickets cost €50. Jean explained why there will be another reason to celebrate on the night.

Jean said: “We are hoping to unveil our new club tops on the night also so if any past members would like to order a top they can contact Portlaoise Macra Facebook page.

“Last year we finally paid of our mortgage on the Macra Hall in Portlaoise so we are delighted to also celebrate that on the night.

“We are certain it will be a great night and are hoping past and present members will attend.”

Anyone wishing to purchase tickets can do so via the Portlaoise Macra Facebook page.
