Laois Ladies launch ‘last man standing’ competition to raise funds for training fund

Laois ladies

The Laois Ladies enjoyed a tremendous year in 2022 and are hoping to make further progress in 2023.

But in order to do this, money is required and they have launched a fundraiser.

They are going to run a ‘Last Man Standing’ competition with all funds raised going to their training fund.

This will be based on Premier League soccer games and the competition will begin on December 26.

Entry is €10 and you must pick a team each week – you progress if your team wins and are out if they do not.

You can only pick the same team once and the winning player will receive €500.

Anyone interested in entering can message Aimee Kelly (085-2157521), Anna Healy (085-1055431) or Eimear Barry (085-7297649).

The Ladies gave us a wonderful year in 2022 – culminating in All-Ireland Intermediate success in Croke Park against Wexford.

Mo Nerney was subsequently named Player of the Year and top scorer while Eimear Barry won Golden Glove.

Seven players were named in the team of the year and they also held a successful dinner dance on Saturday.

In 2023, they will compete in Division 2 of the National League.

And also in the Leinster and All-Ireland Senior football championships.
