Séamus Byrne, “The Gables”, Farnans, Crettyard, Carlow, December 29th 2022 (unexpectedly) at his home. Beloved husband of Ann and much loved father of Paul, Mark, Ashling, Avril and Adrian.

Sadly missed by his loving wife, sons, daughters, brother Joe, sisters Noreen, Margaret and Angeline, son-in-law Roger, daughters-in-law Laura-Jane and Paula, Avril’s partner Ger, his 8 grandchildren, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends. Predeceased by his parents Peter and Margaret and by his brothers Billy, Peader, Mick and Johnny and his sisters Breda, Anne and Maura.

Reposing at his home (R93 W1W8) on Saturday from 4pm concluding with rosary at 8pm. Funeral Mass on Sunday (New Years Day) at 11am in the Church of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Mayo. Burial afterwards in Doonane Cemetery.

Ronan Culleton
Cloonagh, Mountmellick, Laois

Ronan Culleton peacefully passed away on 28th December in Beaumoumt Hospital, surrounded by his loving family.

Ronan is deeply missed by his loving wife Joanna, his adoring daughters Aoife, Aisling and Aoibheann; his parents Mary and Pat, his sister Maria, mother-in-law Bernie, brother-in-law James, sister-in-law Julie, Aunts, Uncles, Cousins and a large circle of family and friends. Predeceased by his father-in-law Jimmy Gallagher.

Reposing in Moloney’s Funeral Home on Friday from 5pm. Recital of The Rosary at 7pm. Requiem Mass on Saturday at 1pm in St. Joseph’s Church, Mountmellick. Burial after in St.Brigid’s Cemetery, Rosenallis.

The family are eternally grateful to and wish to sincerely thank the paramedics and staff at Beaumont Hospital, all who cared for Ronan over the past number of weeks.

Anne Browne (née Corcoran)
Ballymorris Manor, Portarlington, Laois/Walsh Island, Offaly

Formerly of Coolagarry, Walsh Island County Offaly. Peacefully surrounded by her loving family while in the loving care of the staff of Oakdale Nursing Home, Portarlington. Deeply regretted by her loving family James, Andy, Emma and Darreen and their father Jim, brothers Joe and Willie, grandchildren, nieces, nephew, extended family, neighbours and friends.

Reposing at Maher’s Chapel of Rest, Portarlington on Thursday evening from 5pm with Rosary at 7pm.

Removal from her daughter Darreen’s residence (39 Clanmalire Close, Portarlington) on Friday morning at 9:10am(travelling via Portlaoise Road and her residence) arriving St Michael’s Church, Portarlington for Requiem Mass at 10am. Funeral afterwards to St Michael’s Cemetery, Portarlington.

Deeply regretted by her loving husband Des, children Tom, Des, Pat and Mary, son-in-law Brendan, daughters-in-law Josephine and Pam, grandchildren Aaron, Eoin, Roisín, Padráig, Ciarán, Aisling, Ella and Darragh, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Reposing at Rigney’s Funeral Home, Athy, on Thursday evening (December 29th) from 5pm with Rosary at 8pm. Removal on Friday afternoon (via Rahin Road, Ballylinan) to arrive at St. Anne’s Church, Ballylinan for Requiem Mass at 2pm. Burial afterwards in St. Anne’s Cemetery.

Kathleen Hogan (née Galvin)
Clonskeagh, Dublin/Coolrain, Laois

Peacefully yet unexpectedly at St. Vincent’s University Hospital in her ninety-sixth year. Predeceased by her beloved husband Brendan and her grandson Kienan.

Loving mother to Kevin, Ray, Brendan and Caitriona. Very sadly missed by her family, daughter-in-law Tracy and Fiona, treasured grandchildren Eoin, Lorcan (Sinead) Kate (Barry) Sinead, Ben and Jack, cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family, neighbours and friends.

Kathleen will repose at home on Friday 30th December from 4pm to 7pm. Funeral Mass will take place at 10am on Saturday 31st December in the Church of The Blessed Virgin Mary of the Miraculous Medal, Bird Avenue (D14 VP11) followed by burial at St. Fergal’s Cemetery, Camross, Co. Laois (arriving 13:30 approx.) Family flowers only please.

Dillon Joseph Kidney-Quinn

Dillon Joseph Kidney – Quinn 53 Willow Grove, Mountmellick, Co. Laois, aged 2, died unexpectedly on Monday 26th December surrounded by his loving family.

Sadly missed by his loving parents Ann and Gavin, big brothers Tyler and Daragh, big sister Hannah, grandparents Martin and Marie, Joe and Marion, aunts, uncles and cousins, great grandmother, a wide circle of family and friends.

Laois) – December 28th 2022 peacefully in the wonderful care of the staff at Cairnhill Nursing Home. Phyllis; dearly beloved wife of Jim, much loved mother of Denise and Tom. Maureen McHugh (nee Barrett) Old Deerpark, Ballyfin, Co. Laois and formerly Derrynameel, Barnatra, Belmullet, Co. Mayo.

Beloved daughter of the late John and Katie Barrett died December 27th 2022 in The Loving care of the staff at St.Brigid’s Community Nursing Home, Shaen, Co Laois.

Predeceased by her brother Paul and niece Mary. Wife of Michael McHugh. Deeply regretted by her sons John Joe and his wife Mary, Michael Anthony and his partner Sharon, Thomas Patrick and his partner Leona, grandchildren Isobel, Roise, Iarlaith, Ellamae and Sonny, brothers John (U.K.) and Michael (Scotland), sisters Kathleen Linane and Sadie Monaghan, brother-in-law Martin, nieces and nephews, neighbours, relatives and her many friends.

Maureen’s funeral Cortège will arrive at Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Glencastle on Saturday for Funeral Mass at 12 noon. Interment will take place afterwards in Glencastle Old Cemetery.

Mary Curran (née Fitzpatrick), “Annvilla”, St Joseph’s Rd, Carlow and formerly Clonagh, Ballickmoyler, Co Carlow, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, on December 26th, 2022, at her home.

Beloved wife of Frank, much loved mother of Maria and Lindsay, adored grandmother of Summer, Joey and Danny and cherished sister of John, Margaret, Rose and the late Michael.

She will be sadly missed by her loving husband, daughters, grandchildren, son-in-law JJ, brother, sisters, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends.

Peacefully in the care of the staff at Fern Gardens Care Home , London. Predeceased by his parents Joe and Kathleen, brother Willie and his sister Alice.Joe will be deeply missed by his sister Brigid (Conroy),(Abbeyleix) sister in law Phil, nieces and nephews family and friends.

Reposing in the Chapel of Rest adjoining the Church Of The Most Holy Rosary Abbeyleix on Thursday from 5 pm.with Rosary at 6pm.

Removal to the Sacred Hearth Church, Arles for 11am. Requiem Mass on Friday. Burial afterwards in the adjoining Cemetery, where Joe will be laid to rest with his parents Joe and Kathleen.

Edward (Eddie) Culbert
Belview House, Athy, Kildare/Portlaoise, Laois

Formerly of Knockmay House, Portlaoise. Peacefully, surrounded by his loving family in the loving care of the nurses and staff of The Midland Regional Hospital, Tullamore. Sadly missed by his loving wife Rhoda, sons John, Leslie and Ashley, daughters Margaret, Lynn, and Hazel, brother Reggie, sister Joan, sons-in-law, daughters-in-law, brother-in-law, sister-in-law, eleven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Reposing at his residence (R14 KD99) on Tuesday evening (December 27th) from 6pm until 8pm. Removal on Wednesday morning to arrive at St. Michael’s Church, Carlow Road, Athy for Funeral service at 11am. The service will be livestreamed, link to follow. Burial afterwards in St. Michael’s Old Cemetery, Athy.
