Louise O’Reilly
Carlow Town, Carlow / Mountrath, Laois

Louise O’Reilly, New Line Close, Mountrath, Co Laois and formerly of Bullock Park, Carlow, passed away unexpectedly, on January 25th, 2023, at her home.

Beloved mother of Adam, Tom and Elliott, much loved daughter of Tony and the late Colette, cherished sister of Susan and Tony Jnr and treasured partner of Ambrose.

She will be sadly missed by her loving sons, father, brother, sister, brother-in- law Ciarán, Tony’s partner Darina, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends.

Kathleen Magennis (née Kerr)
Millbrook Lawns, Tallaght, Dublin / Timahoe, Laois

Kathleen who was formerly from Timahoe, Co. Laois passed away peacefully at her residence in the company of her loving family. Predeceased by her beloved husband Canice. Sadly missed by her loving family, son Conor, daughter Ciara, sister Mary, brothers Tom, Pj and Michael, grandchildren, daughter in law, son in law, relatives, neighbours and friends.

Patrick (PJ) Hayes
13 Elsa Road, Welling, Kent, England, Ballaghaderreen, Roscommon / Timahoe, Laois

Mr Patrick Joseph Hayes better known as “PJ”, late of Ballaghaderren, Co. Roscommon, Ireland and formerly, Kilburn, London, returned to The Father, 28th December, 2022, predeceased by his late wife, Mary Josephine Hayes, nee Dillon, and his late son, Dennis James Hayes. He is loved and remembered by his surviving children: Monica, Gary, Samantha and Olivia and partners: Breda, Eddie, Gerry and Dennis; his grandchildren: Darrel, Aaron, Ashleigh, Shane, Robert and Chloe; great-grandchildren: Tommy, Amelia and Rosabella and his brothers Joe and Stephan and his sister Maureen, his dear friends: The Headen family, with special mention to Marie-Therese Headen and Nellie Ruane and all the many other lovely friends Dad met along the way, including friends/neighbours: John Daley, Bernard and Mary and lifelong friends Tina and Janette Ng and all the countless others.

Patrick will repose in The Presentation Chapel in Stradbally R32 WRH9 on Sunday evening 29th from 5pm with recital of the Rosary at 5.45pm. Removal by Whelehan Funeral Directors on Monday morning the 30th at 11.30am to arrive at St Michael’s Church, Timahoe, Co. Laois, R32x880 for 12 noon Requiem Mass. Interment to follow in Saint Michael’s Cemetery.

Patrick (Paddy) Lee
Grennan, Attanagh, Laois / Attanagh, Kilkenny

Peacefully at St. Lukes Hospital Kilkenny & following a short stay in the excellent care of the nurses & staff of Brookhaven Nursing Home Ballyragget, husband of the late Patricia. Deeply regretted by his sons Kevin, Peter & Michael, daughters in law, grandchildren, great grandchildren, his friend Peter, nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours & friends.

Reposing at Phelans Funeral Home, Durrow from 5.00pm on Thursday evening with Rosary at 7.00pm. Removal to St. Tighearnachs Church, Cullohill on Friday morning for Requiem Mass at 11.00am. Burial immediately afterwards in Durrow Cemetery.

Josephine Dunne
Palmerstown, Dublin / Rosenallis, Laois

DUNNE, Josephine – 24 January 2023 – Palmerstown, and formerly Camira, Rosenallis Co Laois, Peacefully at St James’s Hospital. Beloved wife and best friend of Colm. Josephine will be sadly missed and forever remembered by her loving husband, sister in law Mary, nieces Áine, Fiona, Regina and Tracey, nephews Greg, Tony and Damian, her extended family and friends.

Patrick (Paddy) Cahill, Coolnacritta, Rathdowney, Co. Laois. 25th January 2023. Peacefully in the exceptional care of the nurses and staff, especially Kay and Orla of The Sacred Heart Nursing Home, Crosspatrick. Predeceased by his parents John and Ellen, his brother John and his sisters Bridie and Mary. Sadly missed by his nieces and nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews, neighbours, relatives and friends.

Reposing at his nephew John Cahill’s residence (R32 YD52) (Coolnacritta) from 4pm with prayers at 8pm on Thursday evening. Funeral Mass on Friday in The Church of The Immaculate Conception, Galmoy at 11am followed by interment in Glashare Cemetery. Family flowers only by request, donations can be made to The Alzheimers Society. House private on Friday morning.

Seamus Mortimer, Robinstown, Collinstown, Co.Westmeath, and formerly of Mountrath, Co. Laois, suddenly at his residence. Predeceased by his son Darren. Deeply regretted by his loving wife Mary, son David, his grandchildren Ashleigh, Lily and Alfie and their mother Sandra, sisters Peggy and Marie, brothers Gerard and Joseph, sisters in law, brothers in law, relatives, neighbours and friends.

Reposing at his residence (eircode N91KX76) on Thursday, January 26th, from 5pm followed by prayers at 8pm. Funeral Mass on Friday, January 27th, at 11am in St. Mary’s Church, Collinstown. Burial afterwards in local cemetery.

Deerly loved husband of Eileen and loving father of Kyran and Niamh. Deeply regretted by his loving wife, son, daughter, son in law John, daughter in law Kate, grandchildren Paul, Sarah, Luke and Sam, sister in law Kay (Butler) (Aughafan) nieces, nephews and many dear friends.

Reposing in Guilfoyle’s Funeral Home, Castletown Eircode (R32 TN84) this Wednesday evening (Jan. 25th.) from 6 o’c with Rosary at 8 o’c.

Requiem Mass on Thursday morning (Jan 26th.) in St. Edmund’s Church, Castletown at 10 o’c followed by private cremation.

Elizabeth Ann (Ann) Ramsbottom (née Hargrove)

Passed away peacefully, at Beechwood Nursing Home, Leighlinbridge, Co. Carlow surrounded by her loving family, on January 23rd, 2023. Beloved wife of Eamonn. Sadly missed by her loving daughters Mary (Mulligan, New Zealand) and Linda (Murphy, Carlow) and son George. Adored grandmother of Sarah and Edward Mulligan, Sarah, David, Helen, Jane, Clare and Ian Ramsbottom, Adam, Greg and Ross Murphy. Deeply regretted by her sons-in-law Matt and Fergal and her daughter-in-law Aideen. Mourned by her sister Mary and Mary’s husband Desmond, her brothers Tom, Martin and the late Joe, dear cousin Mary, her brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours and friends.

Reposing at Rigney’s Funeral Home, Athy, Co. Kildare, R14 TX26, on Thursday evening (January 26th) from 5pm until the conclusion of the Rosary at 8pm. Removal on Friday morning to arrive at The Holy Rosary Church, Luggacurren, Co. Laois, R32 DC44 for Requiem Mass at 11am. Cremation will take place afterwards in Newlands Cross Crematorium.

Emily Stanley (née Neale)
Oldtown House, Cullahill, Laois

Peacefully at Portlaoise General Hospital, Emily, beloved wife of the late Joe Stanley and much loved mother of Alan, Pamela (Byers), Fergus and Michelle (Hales), her ten treasured grandchildren Alvin, Joseph, Ciara, Alicia, Matthew, Aaron, Reuben, Joy, Rose and Leeson, daughter-in-law Alison, sons-in-law Nigel and Henry, sisters-in-law Annie (Lalor), Sylvia (Neale) and Mildred (Neale), nieces, nephews and friends. Predeceased by her brothers Leeson, William and James Neale and sisters Lottie (Melbourne), Hilda (Cantwell) and Ida (Stanley).

The Stanley family would like to express their deep appreciation to the many loyal carers of the Bluebird team who cared for Emily in the last two years with great compassion. We remember also Theresa and Margaret. Special thanks to Dr. Maher, the staff of Durrow Pharmacy and the Durrow Community Nurses for all their support and care. Collectively all these people enabled Emily to remain at home in her beloved Oldtown for as long as possible and to you all, we will be forever indebted.

Funeral service in St. Tighernagh’s Church, Aughmacart (R32 RV05) on Thursday at 2pm followed by interment in Rathsaran Churchyard (R32 NW50). Family flowers only by request. Donations in lieu in aid of Aughmacart Church.

Pascal Conroy
Borris Little, Portlaoise, Laois

Pascal Conroy, Borris Little, Portlaoise, January 20th 2023. Peacefully, at St James’ Hospital, Dublin. Son of the late Joe and Bridget Conroy. Deeply regretted by his sister Mera, nephews, nieces, relatives, neighours and many friends.

Reposing at Keegans funeral home on Wednesday evening from 6.30 with rosary at 7.30pm. Removal on Thursday to arrive at SS Peter and Pauls church for 12 noon mass. Interment afterwards in SS Peter and Pauls cemetery, Portlaoise. Please observe covid precautions.

Patsy Rowan
Wolfhill, Laois / Athy, Kildare

Peacefully at his home (Marshfarm, Luton, England) on the 17th December 2022. Predeceased by his parents Tadgh and Katie Rowan and infant brother Phillip.

Dearly loved and sadly missed by his partner Sarah and loving father of Tim and Ciaran. Lovingly remembered by his brothers and sisters Tim, Willie, James, Martin, Helen and Margaret, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends in Ireland, England and Scotland.

Funeral will take place on Thursday, 26th January 2023 in St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church, 68 Gardenia Avenue, Luton at 10am. Burial will take place afterwards to Luton Vale Cemetery, Luton, England.
