Margaret Laidlaw (nee Keenan). 27/5/1952 – 29/01/2023. Purley, London, formerly 17 Patrick Street, Mountmellick, Co. Laois.

Predeceased by her parents, Sean and Claire and her husband John.

Sadly missed by her daughter – Sarah (Little), Scotland, brothers – John, Rosslare, Tony, Sligo, sisters – Rose (Comerford), Mountmellick, Angela (O’Neill), Cobh, Helen (Moorhouse), Dublin, nephews, nieces, brothers-in-law, Ray, Dónal & Dary, sisters-in-law, Mary & Brid, neighbours and friends.

(Formerly of Luggacurren, Co. Laois). Predeceased by his parents William and Gretta and sister Gemma. Deeply regretted by his loving sons Adrian and John, brother Martin, sisters Kay (Luton), Philomena (Athlone) , Margaret (Athlone) and Bernie (Luton), daughter-in-law Chloe and John’s partner Angela, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Reposing at Rigney’s Funeral Home, Athy, Co. Kildare, R14 TX26, on Wednesday evening (February 1st) from 7pm until 9pm. Removal on Thursday morning to arrive at The Holy Rosary Church, Luggacurren, Co. Laois, for Requiem Mass at 12 noon. Burial afterwards in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Ballyadams.

Woodview, Killenure, Ballybrittas, Laois

Peacefully, surrounded by his loving family at the Regional Hospital Tullamore. In his 87th year. Predeceased by his brother Gilbert and sister Rev. Shirley Kingston. Sadly missed by his loving wife Sylvia, sons George and Aidan, daughters Elaine and Velma, grandchildren Adam, Graham, Rowan, Pippa, Gemma, Conal, Eloise, Aoileann, Lydia and Eli, sons-in-law Lee and Philip, daughters-in-law Nessa and Lisa, nephews, nieces and the family circle.

Reposing at his residence (eircode R32 VX93) on Wednesday evening from 4pm with prayers at 8:30pm. Removal on Thursday at 12:50pm arriving The Church of the Ascension, Rathdaire, Ballybrittas (eircode R32 H395) for Funeral Service at 1:30pm. Burial afterwards in LEA Churchyard Rathmiles, Portarlington (eircode R32 YD28).

Peacefully at the Regional Hospital Portlaoise after a brief illness. Loving son of the late Johnny and Betty Ward Bracklone Street, Portarlington. Deeply regretted by his loving wife Madellne, family Jason, Katie, P.J. and Sean Michael, brother P.J. and his wife Jude, sister Ann and her husband Brendan, niece Amy, nephews Jonathan and Stephan, grandniece, grandnephews, relatives, neighbours and his many friends.

Reposing at his residence (eircode R32 XF99) on Wednesday evening from 3pm with Rosary at 8pm. Removal on Thursday morning at 9:10am (travelling via Foxcroft Street) arriving St Michael’s Church Portarlington for Requiem Mass at 10am. Funeral afterwards to The Garden Chapel at Mount Jerome Crematorium for Cremation Service at 1:30pm.

Anne (Nancy) Gillen (née Phelan)
Passlands, Monasterevin, Kildare / Mountmellick, Laois

Passed away peacefully in the wonderful care of the management and staff of Cairnhill Nursing Home, Bray. Surrounded by all her family. Predeceased by her husband Frank. sisters Theresa and Brigid and brother Peter. Sadly missed by her children Jarlath, Fiona, Maurice, Aishling, Deirdre, Rosaleen, Paul and Frankie. Her sisters Lily & Mary, sons in law, daughters in law, her 22 grandchildren, nieces, nephews, brother in law, sister in law, relatives, friends and neighbours.

Reposing in The Chapel of Rest, Monasterevin on Tuesday from 5pm to 7pm, with rosary recital at 7pm. Removal on Wednesday from her home in Passlands to St Peter & Paul’s Church for 12noon requiem mass. Internment afterwards in St Evin’s Cemetery.

Lacka, Ballaghmore, Laois

Patrick (Paddy) Joseph Walsh, Lacka, Ballaghmore, Borris in Ossary, Co Laois. Died 28th January in the loving care of his son Gearoid, following an illness bravely borne.

Predeceased by his parents Patrick and Kathleen and his wife Mary.

He will be sadly missed by his son Gearoid, sisters Theresa (Delahunty) and Bridie (Kearney) his brothers in law Frank Delahunty and John Kearney, his sister in law Nellie Duncan, his nephews Ian and Alan Kearney and their families, his grandnephew Darragh Kearney, grandnieces Ciara and Ailbhe Kearney, cousins, relatives, neighbours and wide circle of friends.

Reposing in Doyle’s Funeral Home Roscrea E53 RX08 on Tuesday 31st January from 6pm to 8pm.

Removal from Doyle’s Funeral Home on Wednesday morning at 9.30am to arrive at St Molua’s Church, Ballaghmore for requiem Mass at 10am followed by burial in the family plot in the adjoining cemetery.

John Bosco Grant (hurler), Colt, Raheen, Co. Laois. Died 29th January 2023 (peacefully), surrounded by his loving family and friends after an illness bravely borne. Predeceased by his dad P.J.. Loving father to sons Dylan and Callum, grandfather to Sarah Rose and Logan, beloved son of his heartbroken mother Kathleen, brother to P.J. Martin, Cathal, Carl, Michael, Sheila, Nicola, Cathariona and Annette, brother-in-law to Geraldine, Deirdre, Lisa, Tommy, Enda and John. Deeply regretted by his loving nephews, nieces, uncles, aunts, many cousins and valued circle of friends.

Reposing at his home in Colt, (R32K2K3) on Monday evening from 3 o’clock with Rosary at 8 o’clock. Removal on Tuesday evening 6.30 p.m. to St. Fintan’s Church Raheen, arriving for 7 o’clock. (House private on Tuesday evening from 5.30 p.m.)

Requiem Mass on Wednesday at 12 noon, followed by burial in the adjoining cemetery.

Denis (Dinny) Dowling, Longford, Camross, Portlaoise, Co. Laois. Died (unexpectedly) on 27th January 2023. Predeceased by his beloved daughter Elizabeth, parents John and Mary, siblings Mick, Ann, Paddy and Fint. Deeply regretted by his loving wife Sarah, and father to Mary Theresa (Burke), Margaret, Paraic, Sean, Francis, Donnacha and Oliver. Sadly missed by his grandchildren, Sarah, Aoife, Mark, Tadhg, Shane, Eoin, Dean, Leanne, Fionn, Oisín, Aaron, Eva, Amy, Craig, Lukas, Cayden, Lauren and Rhys, sister Rita (Higgins), nieces, nephews, son-in-law Seamus, daughters-in-law Ann, Marie, Irene and Erika, aunts, uncle, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, relatives, neighbours and friends.

Reposing at Burke’s Funeral Home Mountrath this Monday evening from 6 o’clock with Rosary at 9 o’clock. Removal on Tuesday evening to St. Fergal’s Church Camross arriving at 8.15 p.m. (via Longford). Requiem Mass on Wednesday afternoon at 2 o’clock, followed by burial in the adjoining cemetery.
