Sadness at death of well-known Heath man after battle with illness

Seamus Holland RIP

The death has occurred of Seamus Holland from The Heath after being sick for the past year or so with cancer.

Seamus was diagnosed with Stage 4 pancreatic cancer last June, an aggressive form with limited treatment options.

The Holland family are very well known and regarded around The Heath with Seamus running a gardening business locally.

The family are strongly linked with The Heath GAA club with Seamus’s son Leon playing a central part in their intermediate football triumph last September.

Seamus himself was a very talented wheelchair basketball player and represented Ireland as well as a host of clubs including Clonaslee, Ballybrack Bulls and Killester in Dublin.

Seamus is sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his loving wife, Siobhan, daughter, Gillian, sons, Kevin and Leon, granddaughter Heidi, grandson Reuben, daughter-in-law Laura, son-in-law Tom, sisters, brothers sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Seamús will repose at his original home on Friday 10th February from 3pm to 6pm.

Recital of the Rosary at 8pm for family and close friends. Removal on Saturday 11th February to the Church of the Assumption, The Heath for 12 noon, Requiem Mass and afterwards Seamus will be laid to Rest in the adjoining cemetery.
