Funeral details announced for Adam Kirwan, the young Laois man who died tragically in Tipperary

Funeral arrangements have been announced for Adam Kirwan, the young Laois man who was killed in an accident in Tipperary in the early hours on Thursday morning.

Adam was involved in a fatal single vehicle road traffic incident that occurred at College Green in Thurles, Tipperary.

Adam will be reposing at his home (eircode R32DN79) on Saturday evening from 3pm, concluding with Rosary at 9pm.

His removal will take place Sunday afternoon to St. Fintan’s Church Mountrath (eircode R32X338), for Requiem Mass at 2pm.

Adam family have requested that the house remain private on Sunday please.

This will be followed by burial in St. Fintan’s Cemetery Mountrath. Adam’s Requiem Mass will be live streamed on www.mountrathparish.ie

Adam was an extremely talented hurler who represented Laois at all levels up to U-20.

A hugely popular young man, he was a student in MIC St Pat’s of Thurles campus and recently helped the college to win a Ryan Cup.

He played on the Laois minor hurling team in 2018 and 2019 and with the county U-20 team for the past three years.

At club level he was a star forward with Trumera, helping them to win the 2021 intermediate hurling title.

A past pupil of Gaelscoil Thromaire and Mountrath Community School, Adam will be sadly missed by a large circle of family and friends.

Adam is the loving son of Lourda and Paul, and beloved brother to Marie.

He is predeceased by his aunt Brenda, sadly missed by his heartbroken parents and sister, grandparents Timmy and Mary Kirwan, Pat and Breda Hosey.

Also by his aunts and uncles Colm, Bernie, Barbara, Peter, Emer, Stephen, Tadhg, Elaine, Diarmuid, Karen, Tom, Brian, Ann Marie, Barbara, Eamon, Donna, Gary, cousins Mark, Mikey, Eimee, Oisin, Jack, Ben, Lily, Fiadh, Willow, Craig, Cora, Patrick, Kate, Ava, Michael, Eóghan, Páidí and Saoirse, extended family, neighbours and a large circle of friends.
