Mary Langford (née Travers)
Emo, Laois/Dromahair, Leitrim

Mary Langford (nee Travers) Emo Village, Portlaoise and formerly of Dromahair, Co. Leitrim. Predeceased by her loving husband Frank and dear son Francis and dear grandson Darren and loving daughter-in-law Betty.

Sadly missed by her loving sons and daughters Michael, Margaret, Bernie, John, Brian, Colette, Patrick and her sons-in-law Johnny, Jimmy and Rod, daughters-in-law Marie, Margaret, Carmella, Treasa, grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchild, neighbours, relatives and many friends.

Public Repose in her home on Saturday from 8pm until 10pm. Public Repose on Sunday from 5pm. Recital of The Rosary at 8pm. Removal from her home on Monday morning arriving to St. Paul’s Church, Emo for Requiem Mass at 12 noon. Burial after in the New Cemetery Emo.

House Private on Monday morning.

Margaret Boland (née Connell)
Cork Road, Stradbally, Laois/Kildare

The death has occurred of Margaret Boland (née Connell), Cork Road, Stradbally, Laois formerly Harristown, Nurney, Co. Kildare. Margaret passed away peacefully at the Midlands Regional Hospital, Portlaoise in the presence of her family.

Pre-deceased by her husband Peter (P), grandson David, siblings Anne, Kathleen, Agnes, James and son-in-law Gus. Much loved mother of Mary, Thomas, Anne, Terry, Peter, Pat, Eugene and her sisters Mary and Lizzy. Sadly, missed by her loving in-laws, Peter, Peggy, Michael, Lily, Anne and Mag, 15 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, extended family, wonderful neighbours and many friends.

Margaret will be reposing at the Buggie/Scotland family home, Corrig (eircode R32H295) on Friday at 2pm with Rosary at 8pm. Removal on Saturday morning to the Church of the Sacred Heart, Stradbally, for 11am Funeral Mass, followed by interment in St. Brigid’s Cemetery, Nurney, Co. Kildare.

Family flowers only. Donations, if desired, to Alzheimer’s Society.

Elizabeth (Lizzie) Bowe
Daly Terrace, Rathdowney, Laois

Elizabeth (Lizzie) Bowe, 30 Daly Terrace, Rathdowney, Co. Laois, 26th April 2023. Predeceased by her parents, brothers and sisters. Peacefully at her home, surrounded by her sister Nancy, her brothers Peter and Paddy, sisters Katsy, Teresa and Maggie. Sadly missed by her brothers, sisters, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Reposing at her residence tomorrow, Thursday evening, from 6pm to 9pm, with rosary at 8pm. Funeral will leave the house at 10.30am Friday morning for Requiem Mass at 11am in The Church of The Holy Trinity, Rathdowney and burial in Rathdowney local cemetery.

Michael Hogan
Shellumsrath, Kilkenny/Ballyfin, Laois

Michael Hogan (Shellumsrath, Callan Road, Kilkenny and late of Cloonagh, Ballyfin, Co. Laois) April 25th 2023 (peacefully) at Carlow District Hospital. Beloved husband of Elizabeth and loving father of Kevin, Mary and Michael. He will be sadly missed by his wife and family, brothers Noel, Vincent and Frank, sisters Robin and Anne, daughter-in-law Rose Mary, his adored grandchildren Éabha and Michael, nephews, nieces, in-laws, extended family and friends.

A graveside Committal Service will be celebrated on Friday at 2p.m. in Foulkstown Cemetery. House private to family and close friends only. No flowers please, donations, if desired, to the Irish Cancer Society https://www.cancer.ie

Tony (Anthony) Whelan
Baldoyle, Dublin/Clonaslee, Laois

WHELAN,Tony (Anthony) (late of Baldoyle, Dublin 13 and Clonaslee, Co. Laois) – 25th April 2023 (peacefully) in the wonderful care of the staff at Highfield Nursing Home surrounded by his family. Predeceased by his parents Henry and Christina, brothers Henry and PJ and his son-in-law Ger. Loving husband of Mary and much-loved dad of Anne, Susan, Brian and Carmel; will be very sadly missed by his wife and children, sons-in-law Damian and Níall, daughters-in-law Melissa and Beatrice, grandchildren Emer, Ciara, Daniel and Fiach, sister Catherine, nieces, nephews, all in-laws, extended family, friends and neighbours.

Reposing at his home on Friday afternoon, 28th April, from 4pm to 8pm. Removal on Saturday morning to St. Peter and Paul’s Church, Baldoyle for Funeral Mass at 11am followed by burial in St. Fintan’s Cemetery, Sutton.
