€12,740 Approved for Community-Based Integration Projects in Laois

Labras – Laois Brazilian Support Association

Funding of €12,740 has been allocated for local community-based integration projects in Laois.

This funding is being made available to local communities to promote integration of migrants and refugees and thereby help develop vibrant and diverse communities.

TD Sean Fleming, Minister of State at the Department of Foreign Affairs, has welcomed the announcement.

He said: “I would like to welcome this announcement of funding.

“These grants help small but vital projects which in turn make a massive difference in people’s lives.

“This is a welcome funding stream and I would like to thank all those who work so hard with these vital projects.”

The funding a projects in question are as follows:

€2,740 has been allocated to Labras – Laois Brazilian Support Association

€5,000 allocated to Laois Intergration Network  – A range of Intercultural events to celebrate and advance integration and full civic participation in Co. Laois

€5,000 allocated to Laois Partnership Company – An active citizenship of migrant communities in Co.  Laois
