Sadness at death of the much-loved Colm Dunne

The death has occurred of Colm Dunne from Togher outside Portlaoise, a much-loved character who was part of the furniture in Portlaoise Rugby Club for many years.

Colm was a native of Clonaslee but worked as a psychiatric nurse in St Fintan’s Hospital for many years.

And living in Togher, he immersed himself in the rugby club, serving as a masseur to countless teams over the years.

His good humour and kind manner made him a hugely popular figure and he looked after many aches and pains as well as treating injured players in his rooms at his home.
