Special fundraising jersey launched by bereaved Laois family in memory of beloved son and brother

The family of Mountmellick boy Eoin Coss have begun a special fundraiser to keep his memory alive and help other sick children.

Eoin, who was just 14, tragically passed away on December 10, 2022, after a ten-month battle with cancer.

Eoin’s mother, Martina Dunne, and his big brothers, Rian and Darragh have designed a jersey in Eoin’s memory.

Martina and her sons revealed the project on social media last year, and are hoping people will take it on their holidays in honour of Eoin, and his unfulfilled dream to travel the world.

The jersey is white with sky-blue trim, with a rainbow on the front and the words ‘Thanks for such a great journey.”

The crest features a yellow rose, a home, a family, and music notes, emblazoned on a rainbow shield, and the words ‘Eoin’s Journey.’

Either side of the crest are the coat of farms for both the Coss an Dunne families.

The jerseys are printed locally by DS Sports.

Jerseys are on sale for €40, with all profits going towards two very worthy causes:

  • Giggle Fund for child patients in St John’s Ward in Crumlin children’s hospital, and
  • The Paediatrics Unit in Midlands Regional Hospital Portlaoise.

The first print of 75 jerseys sold out in two hours, and a second run of 400 is selling fast.

People are posting photos of themselves wearing their jerseys in destinations across the world, tagging #eoinsjourney.

Jerseys can be purchased here.
