WorldSkills Ireland is returning to the RDS, Simonscourt from the September 25 to 27.
The event is expected to attract over 27,000 people including students, parents and teachers.
Over the course of the three days the event will celebrate Apprenticeships, Skills and Careers with interactive demonstrations.
Over 170 finalists will compete in a range of skill-based trades such as Automation, Construction Skills, ICT and Culinary Arts.
Amongst the 170 finalists are four competitors from Laois. Those who are competing include Colin Rowan, Ruá Murgatroyd, Warren Walsh and Luke Ryan.
Colin Rowan will represent Laois in the Automobile Technology competition alongside Ruá Murgatroyd who will compete in the Cloud Computing competition.
Also we have Warren Walsh going head to head in Electrical Installations and Luke Ryan is competing in the Welding competition.
The event aims to recognise the Skills and Apprenticeships preparing the talent of today for the future.
Apart from the many competitions, there is an opportunity for the competitors to meet employers who are willing to recruit employees that are capable of the digital tech skills that are the backbone of jobs in the future.
The finals day is taking place on September 27 at the RDS, Dublin. The event is free to attend and registration is now open on www.worldskillsireland.ie.
