Close to a sell out as all the big guns to perform at Vicarstown Community Concert

A Ukulele group, a community choir, a male choir and an Irish dancing school.

The parish of Stradbally is certainly well served when it comes to musical and cultural offerings.

And this Friday in Vicarstown, which along with Timahoe and Stradbally, makes up the parish, there will be a special concert where all four are on agenda.

Hosted in the church in Vicarstown on Friday at 8pm, the Timahoe Male Choir, the Stradbally Community Choir, the Vicarstown Ukulele group and Buggie School of Irish Dancers will all take to the stage.

It’s a special event – a first of its kind in the Vicarstown church – that is inching ever closer to a sell out every day.

Indeed it will be the first public appearance of the Timahoe Male Choir since their win in the All Island Pride of Place awards, an incredible achievement in what is the creme de la creme of community awards.

The Timahoe Male Choir will be first to perform on the night as they bring a selection of their much-loved classics to another local audience.

They have performed everywhere from the main stage of Electric Picnic to New York’s finest Irish-American venues in the two years since they’ve performed and again have a busy schedule of events across the winter months.

The young dancers from the Buggie School, the Stradbally Community Choir and the Vicarstown Ukulele group will all follow.

It promises to be a great night. Tickets are available online here and in the Stradbally Parish office with all funds raised going to the parish funds.
