Patrick (Patsy) Conroy
Redcastle, Mountrath, Laois
Patsy passed away unexpectedly but peacefully on the 6th December 2025, in the care of doctors and nurses at the Midlands Regional Hospital Portlaoise. Predeceased by his parents Fint and Molly, brothers Stephen and Joe, recently deceased sister Catherine.
Deeply regretted by his wife Alice, brothers, sisters, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, extended family, relatives and friends.
Reposing at Burke’s Funeral Home Mountrath eircode R32Y661, on Monday evening 8th December from 6.0’clock, concluding with Rosary at 8.0’clock. Removal on Tuesday morning 9th December to St. Fintan’s Church Mountrath eircode R32X338, for Requiem Mass at 10.0’clock, followed by Burial in the St. Fintan’s Cemetery Mountrath.

Sr Mary Tighe
Newtown Road, Wexford Town, Wexford/Rathdowney, Laois/Errill, Laois
The death has occurred of Sr. Mary Tighe. Sisters of Saint John of God, Sallyville House, Newtown Road, Wexford and formerly of Kylemalawn, Co. Laois.
Peacefully in the care of the staff and Sisters of Sallyville House, surrounded by her loving family.
Predeceased by her parents John and Teresa, sisters Maura, Breda, Teresa, Angela, Anne, Sr Agatha (Nora), Sr. Dympna (Lena), Sr. Aloysius (Rita) and her brother Paddy.
Sadly missed by her nieces, nephews, extended family, relatives and friends and her St. John of God community. May she rest in peace.
Reposing at Sallyville House (Eircode Y35AR25) on Sunday 7th December from 2pm followed by evening prayer at 6pm. Funeral Mass on Monday 8th December at 11am in St. Patrick’s Church, Kilkenny followed by burial in Folkstown Cemetery.

Kevin Gray
Rahanavannagh, Ballyroan, Laois
Formerly of County Armagh. Peacefully surrounded by his loving family at the Regional Hospital Portlaoise. Beloved husband of Helen Kelly, father to Peter, Kevin, Leanne, Ciara, Alanna and Conor, stepfather to Mariclare, Stephen and Sean, brother to Colleen and Mary, father-in-law, adoring Grandad.
Kevin’s loss will be deeply regretted by all. Much loved by his family and many friends.
May Kevin Rest In Peace. Removal from his residence on Sunday at 1:30pm arriving St Patrick’s Church, Ballyroan (eircode R32 CX79) for Requiem Mass at 2pm. Funeral afterwards to St Patrick’s Cemetery.

Passed away unexpectedly. Pre deceased by his father William, brother Joseph and nephew Jamie Lee. Deeply regretted by his partner Lorna, son Frankie, his heartbroken mother Margaret, sister Caroline, brothers Paul, John and Patrick, his beloved nieces and nephews, extended family, relatives and friends.
Reposing at his home from Sunday. Rosary recital on Monday at 7.30pm. Removal on Tuesday at 11.45 to arrive at St Peter & Paul’s Church for 12.30 requiem mass. Interment afterwards in St Peter & Paul s Cemetery, Portlaoise.
Joe (Josie) Carroll
New Row, Abbeyleix, Laois
Passed away peacefully on the 3rd December in the care of the staff of Midland Regional Hospital Portlaoise. Predeceased by his brother Gerard.
Deeply regretted by his wife Bernie, daughter Shirley, sons Joe and Michael, sisters Gearldine and Philomena, sister-in-law Catherine, granddaughters Lucy, Moya and Ruby, grandsons Donnacha, Eoghan and Tommy, son-in-law Joe, daughter-in-law Eva and Michael’s partner Sarah, cousins and friends.
Reposing in the Chapel of Repose adjoining the Church Of The Most Holy Rosary Abbeyleix from 5pm on Friday with prayers at 7pm. Removal to the Church Of The Most Holy Rosary Abbeyleix on Saturday for 11am. Requiem Mass. Interment afterwards in the adjoining Cemetery.
House private at all times. Family flowers only.
Derek Alcorn
Cappanarrow, Camross, Laois
The death has occurred of Derek Alcorn, Cappanarrow, Camross, Co. Laois and recently Beech Park Nursing Home, Kildare (2024).
Peacefully on the 4th December, 2025, at Naas General Hospital in the presence of his loving family.
Brother of Michael, and predeceased by his adoptive parents William John and Phoebe Danne, and his caring brothers and sisters.
Derek will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by his family, nieces, nephews, neighbours and large circle of friends.
Special thanks to the most wonderful staff at Beech Park Nursing Home and Naas General Hospital for their exceptional care of Derek.
James (Paddy) Drury
Bride Street, Ballinakill, Laois
Paddy died peacefully at Brookhaven Nursing Home Ballyragget in his 95th year.
Formerly of Church Street Ballinakill.
He is predeceased by his parents James and Mary,brothers Joe and Tom and his sister Mary.
Deeply regretted by his brother Michael, sister Sr. Aine, sister in law Sheila, nephews, nieces, grandnephews and grandnieces relatives and friends.
Reposing in the Oratory at Brookhaven Nursing Home (R95 YP63) on Friday evening 5 December from 6pm to 7pm with Prayers at 6pm.
Funeral to arrive at St.Brigid’s Church Ballinakill on Saturday 6 December for Funeral Mass at 11am.
Burial afterwards in St.Brigid’s Cemetery. House Private
