Laois GAA confirm U-20 footballer and hurler of the year for 2025

Laois GAA have announced the selection of U-20 footballer and hurler of the year for 2025.

Unsurprisingly, both selections come from players from the respective winning teams.

In football, Stradbally Parish Gaels forward David Donohue has claimed the prize.

The Stradbally marksman was the side’s top scorer as they went throughout the championship unbeaten.

He also scored 1-3 in the final as SPG made it back to back titles with victory over Killeshin.

Donohue was on the team that won last year too and will be eligible again in 2026 where he and his side will be looking for three in a row.

On the hurling, Liam Kirby of The Harps has been chosen as the worthy winner.

Like Donohue, he was also top scorer in this championship for the victors.

10 points in the final ensured victory over Castletown to capture an incredible fourth title in a row at this grade.
