Now in its 27th year, the Mountmellick Drama Festival gets underway this Friday night – and runs for eight consecutive nights in the town’s Community Arts Centre.

First up on the schedule, this Friday, March 3, is an old John B Keane favourite – ‘The Field’. This is produced by the Amphitheatre Company from Clare.

On Saturday it is the turn of the Glenamaddy Players from Galway and their production of ‘The Bog of Cats’ by Marina Carr. The shows continue every night produced by groups from Dublin, Naas, Cork, Nenagh, Galway, Clare and Cork.

Tickets are €10 per show (concessions available for €5) while there are also season tickets available for €50 (concessions available for €25).

Each show starts at 8pm sharp and tickets can be booked by contacting Jessie (087 7942994) or Noreen (087 4121205)
