Gardaí are appealing for witnesses after a man was beaten and robbed in Portlaoise last night.
The man, aged in his early 20s, was attacked by three men on the Ridge Road at around 9pm on Wednesday night.
Gardaí believe that the man, a foreign national, was punched several times in the face by two of the men during the ordeal while his hands were held behind his back by the other.
Fortunately, the man received just minor head injuries and did not require further medical treatment.
The group then took off with cash and other belongings. They headed in the direction of Greenmill Lane and the Mountmellick Road.
Gardai are appealing to anyone who saw three men walking nin a group with their hoods up around the time in question to contact Portlaoise Garda Station on 057 8674100.
