Witnesses sought after weekend robberies in Portlaoise and Portarlington

Gardaí are appealing for information after two robberies were carried out in Laois over the weekend.

Sometime between 5pm on Saturday and 7pm on Sunday, the Toma Takeaway in Portarlington was broken into.

A sum of cash was stolen from the premises on Main Street.

Meanwhile, in a separate incident, there was an attempted robbery at a house in Portlaoise on Saturday.

The incident took place at a house in Bloomfield Cross, Portlaoise.

The burglar alarm on the house was activated, but it is not known whether anything was taken.
