Mountmellick girl Maeve Dunne is the new Laois Rose

Maeve Dunne from Mountmellick has been crowned the 2017 Laois Rose.

Sponsored by Emmett Stores, her family’s business in Mountmellick, Maeve is the 15th Laois Rose.

The 26-year-old is the only daughter of Ger and Geraldine Dunne and works in Event Management with Accenture in Dublin. A NUI Galway graduate she spent two years living and working in Australia. She is the first ever winner from Mountmellick.

She succeeds Kate Hyland and will represent Laois in Tralee at the international festival in August.
