Almost €250,000 of Cannabis herb seized in a Kildare town

Gardai are appealing for information after a robbery at Cul na Mona

Gardai targeting the sale and supply of controlled drugs in the Kildare area have seized cannabis herb and arrested two males following a planned search.

Gardai from the Kildare District assisted by The Garda Dog unit, carried out a planned search of a house in Rathangan, Co Kildare at approximately 3pm yesterday afternoon.

During the search cannabis herb with an estimated street value of up to €230,000 (pending analysis) was discovered and two males, one in his 30s and one in his 20s, were arrested at the scene.

Both males were detained under the provisions of Section 2 of The Criminal (Justice) Act 1996 at Newbridge Garda Station. Both males have been charged in relation to the seizure and are scheduled to appear before Naas District Court at this morning’s sitting.
