Laois Ladies SFC Round 1

Last year’s intermediate champions St Conleth’s turned tradition on its head in the opening round of the Laois Ladies SFC by beating traditional powerhouses Timahoe.

The sides were level 2-7 each at the break, St Conleth’s goals coming from Allanah Havill and captain Claire Fox while Mo Nerney accounted for both of Timahoe’s goals.

A Shona Barry goal kept Timahoe in touch throughout the second half but St Conleth’s did enough to win it with Naomi Luttrell, Eva Galvin, Sinead Cullen and Allanah Keogh all on the mark too throughout the game.

St Brigid’s and Portlaoise meet in the other opening round game on Monday night with reigning champions Sarsfields having a bye.
