Aymar Gourdet, who owns Le Skinny Chef, who won second prize in the All Ireland Farmers Market competition held recently in Enniscorthy

A French man, in business in Portlaoise, was among the winners at the recent All Ireland Farmers Market competition held in Wexford.

Aymar Gourdet, who owns ‘Le Skinny Chef’ brand based in Clonminam in Portlaoise, creates a range of food products using locally sourced organic ingredients like dips, spreadable pestos, concentrated soups, chutneys, jams, oils and cordials.

And he was placed second in the prestigious All Ireland Farmers Market competition which was held at the Enniscorthy Strawberry Festival on the June Bank Holiday weekend.

“We are delighted,” said Aymar. “The standard of participants was very high and so was the judging panel. They look for great branding, product originality, creativity, customer service, knowledge, hygiene standards, price and the story behind the products so it is a great achivement for Le Skinny Chef.”

Nibbles Food Emporioum from Cork was the overall winner with Le Skinny Chef in second.
