Ballyroan stun Portlaoise and all of Friday night’s Laois GAA results

O’Dempsey’s and St Joseph’s will meet in the ACFL Division 1A final following Portlaoise’s failure to beat Ballyroan-Abbey in the final game of the league stages this evening in Rathleague.

Portlaoise were one point behind O’Dempsey’s on the table heading into their final game and knew a win at home against an already-relegated Ballyroan side would secure their place in the league decider.

But Ballyroan did O’Dempsey’s a massive favour by recording a 2-6 to 0-7 win. Portlaoise led 0-4 to 0-2 at half-time but two second-half goals saw Ballyroan claim a hard-earned win.

It means O’Dempsey’s will meet St Joseph’s in the final on Sunday week.

In the other main adult game played this evening Rathdowney-Errill claimed the ACHL Division 5 title thanks to a 2-10 to 1-7 win over Camross in Borris-in-Ossory.
