Six must see acts for Saturday’s Electric Picnic

What to look out for at Electric Picnic today

With the Picnic well underway, we look ahead to some of the acts that will be performing on the Saturday of the festival.

We have compiled a list of the 6 must see acts including DJs, Rappers, and Bands.

Keywest
Main Stage – 1.45pm

Keywest are a quality Irish band who perform Indie-type music.

They came to the public’s attention first with some great performances busking on the street of Dublin and Galway, the band broke through the airwaves with some big hits such ‘This Is Heartbreak’.

This will be the first time for Keywest to perform on the big stage at the Picnic and it will be an explosive performance.

Giggs
Main Stage – 4.45pm

Giggs is an English rapper who has some really good songs produced and has recently teamed up with one of the biggest rap stars in the world, Drake.

Perhaps that’s why we are tipping this act as a must see as Drake is rumoured to be joining Giggs on stage just as he did at the Reading Festival last weekend.

If that does come true then it is a must-see performance but you won’t be disappointed even if the Canadian rapper doesn’t show.

Pete Tong
Main Stage – 12.30am

Pete Tong is probably one of the biggest DJs on the scene and he mashes up some of the biggest dance classis around to make for a spectacle.

He made his name as the best DJ in Ibiza and has travelled around to some of the best festivals in the world performing.

His orchestra twist on the music keeps the atmosphere bopping and the main stage is set to bonkers for this performance.

All Tvvins
Rankin Woods – 8pm

Another Irish band who have shot to fame over the past year, with some of the songs performing highly in the Irish charts.

Any of the FIFA lovers out there will recognise some of the songs as they have made a good few playlists for the biggest console game in the world.

There songs include ‘Darkest Ocean’ and ‘Alone Together’ and they have a whole new top-quality album to play so they are set to be a top performance.

Riptide Movement
Rankin Woods – 5.15pm

A well-established Irish band, this is not the first time the Dublin crew to perform in Stradbally as they were here just two years ago.

They were great that day and were raved about as one of the best performers that year.

Their album Getting Through got critical acclaim and they should be their usual brilliant when they take to the stage Saturday.

They recently released a new album and have played in some local festivals over the past few weeks.

Mura Masa
Electric Arena – 8.30

Mura Masa has rose to fame following a whirlwind debut season. An electric/multi-instrumentalist act, this one-man show has some of the best songs produced in the past 12 months and his song ‘Lovesick’ received awards in 2016.

Other songs such as ‘Firefly’ and ‘One Night’ have been knocking around the top of charts as well, so he promises to be a lively performer and a good time is expected.
