Stradbally pub and Mountrath shop burgled

Gardaí are appealing for information after a pub and a shop were burgled in recent days.

At 5am on Sunday morning, Napper Tandy’s pub in Stradbally was broken into.

Three males were involved and a small sum of cash was taken.

The assailants were disturbed by staff during the act and fled.

No description of the men involved is available and gardai cannot say if there is any connection between them and the Electric Picnic patrons.

The festival was in full swing at the time and passed off extremely peacefully.

Meanwhile, Costcutters in Mountrath was burgled around 5am this morning.

No details are available as yet on what was taken.

No arrests have been made in either case and anyone with information are asked to contact Portlaoise Garda Station on 057 8674100.
