Appeal for information after house robbed in Rosenallis

Gardaí are appealing for information after a house was ransacked in Rosenallis this morning.

The incident occurred in the Glenbarrow area of the rural Laois village around around 10am.

A large quantity of cash as well as jewellery and electrical equipment was stolen.

Two males were seen leaving the scene a short time after.

They headed in a grey car towards the Clonaslee direction.

The news comes just a week after a number of houses were burgled in Mountrath.

Gardaí say that tools were taken in one of the robberies but nothing was taken in the other.

No arrests have been made in either case and anyone with information are asked to contact Portlaoise Garda Station on 057 8674100.
