A round-up of all today’s soccer action

It was another busy day of soccer on the local front.

Portlaoise AFC are operating two teams in the Leinster Senior League this year and both of them were in action today.

One team is playing in Major 1D and they played out a 1-1 draw with Terenure College.

Portlaoise AFC’s first team achieved promotion to Division 1A but they are winless after three games.

They travelled away to Skerries United today and although Jason Murphy was on the scoresheet twice, Portlaoise were held to a 2-2 draw.

In the CCFL, a number of local clubs were in action.

In Division 1, Portlaoise Shamrocks let a 2-1 lead slip away to Moydow.

Ger McInerney netted twice but the home team scored two goals in the second half to win 3-2.

Elsewhere, Stradbally Town played out a 1-1 draw with FC Killoe and had Alan Delaney on the scoresheet.

Colm Lanham netted for St Aengus but his team went down 2-1 at home to Geashill.
