Connect 2 Laois Christmas Market comes to Ballacolla

A wide range of delicious products, handmade candles and alternative therapies will be on show at the Connect 2 Laois Christmas Market in Manor Stone tomorrow afternoon.

The delectable goodies to be showcased in Ballacolla will include national award winning mince pies, truffles, jams and spices to tantalize your taste buds this Christmas!

The event runs from 2 to 10 pm.

This is an initiative of the REDZ funded Connect 2 Laois for Food project which is being run by Laois County Council in conjunction with the Local Enterprise Office Laois and Laois Partnership.

Some of the participants who will be showcasing their products include Aghaboe Farm Food’s with their Award Winning Frangipane Mince Pies, which won the Silver Award at the Blas na hÉireann 2017 Food Awards.

Laois’s own nationally and internationally recognised Helen Gee of G Jams will be exhibiting.

Just back from the BBC Good Food Show, Belfast, Michael Onalimi of Flavour Safari – Irelands First African Inspired Sauce Range, will also be showcasing his products.

There will also be homemade ice-cream from Rossmore Farmhouse Ice cream, along with The Merry Mill’s Organic gluten free porridge; handmade chocolate products and truffles and hot chocolate from Cocoa Culture, vegetarian produce from H&H Ltd and pestos, sauces and soups from Le Skinny Chef.

Honey and natural wax handmade candles will be among some of the products available from Dunmore Country School.

Fresh locally grown produce will also be available from Castlewood Organic Farm and Seven Acres, well known stalwarts at Farmers Markets throughout the county.

Finally there will be plenty of home baking and goods from The Kitchen from nearby Rathdowney and health & wellness vouchers available from An Tobar Bó Alternative Therapies.

Raffle

Visitors can enter a raffle held on the night to win a hamper of goodies from Adora Flax Co and also great healthy Christmas gift ideas in beautiful presentation gift packs.

The products of many of the food producers participating in the Connect 2 Laois for Food programme will also be for sale in the recently created Connect 2 Laois for Food hampers which will be available for all.
