There will be a GAA legend in attendance at the Portarlington Dinner Dance next week.
87-year-old commentator Mícheál Ó Muircheartaigh will be the guest speaker on the night.
The Kerry man will also present the club’s minor and U-21 winning sides with their championship medals.
Portarlington won their second minor title in the past four years back in August after defeating Emo-Courtwood-The Rock in the decider.
Ronan Coffey was the star of the show on that night as his tally of 1-5 helped Port to a 1-10 to 1-6 win.
Portarlington were back in O’Moore Park in November where they won the U-21 championship for the first time in 24 years.
They looked in bother ten minutes into the second half when Graiguecullen hit three points to overturn a half-time deficit but Port dominated the final quarter and ran out comfortable 11-point winners in the end.
Colm Murphy was the main man on that night as he kicked 1-7 in a 2-15 to 0-8 win.
The Portarlington GAA Dinner Dance and Presentation Night is on Friday January 26 in The Heritage Hotel in Killenard.
Tickets are €40 and doors open at 7.30pm.
