Boost for Portarlington as former player Ryan returns

Adam Ryan will be back for Portarlington this year

The Portarlington senior footballers have been given a boost with the news that Adam Ryan has transferred back to his native club.

Ryan, who represented Laois at minor, U-21 and senior level, moved to St Jude’s in Dublin in 2017.

However, he has chosen to return and will add extra depth to the side managed by Noel Coss and Des Cooney.

Portarlington made a bit of a breakthrough last year. They reached the Division 1B final but were beaten by Ballylinan.

And in the championship, they played Arles-Killeen three times on the way to reaching the semi final.

They came unstuck against Ballylinan once more in the semi final but will be looking to push on again this year.

And with Ryan back, plus the likes of Ronan Coffey, Colin Slevin and Alex Mohan coming of age, they may just be able to do that.
