Blow for Laois camogie hopes as Dublin prove too strong

The new fixtures for the hurling championships are here
Dublin 1-8 Laois 0-5

Littlewoods Camogie National League Division 2

The Laois camogie team’s hopes of making the knockout stages of this year’s league took a serious blow today when they were beaten away by Dublin.

The game was actually played in the Bray Emmets ground in Wicklow due to Dublin’s struggle to source a venue and they led throughout this game.

They were 0-6 to 0-2 up at the break and a second-half goal made sure of their win. All five Laois points came from Niamh Dollard.

Laois will host leaders Kilkenny next weekend while they will finish their campaign away to Armagh the following week.

The Laois team was: Laura Dunne; Olga Parkinson, Mairead Burke, Rosemarie Bermingham; Molly O’Connor, Aisling Burke, Sarah Creagh; Alison McEvoy, Aoife Burke; Jenny McEvoy, Niamh Dollard, Aoife Collier; Lizzy Ryan, Kirsten Keenan, Amy Loughman. Subs: Niamh Coss for A Burke, Becky Williams for J McEvoy, Elaine Spencer for Keenan, Erin Murray for Bermingham and Sarah Cuddy for A Collier.
