GAA enthusiasts will be licking their lips tonight as an unusually busy night of football is in store.
As this is the last week in April, the month which was designed by the GAA for clubs, it is the last time county players will be available for matches for a while.
And as a result, we have a full round of games in Division 1A, three in Division 1B and a game in Division 2.
The county champions from the past two years will clash in Bill Delaney Park at 7.15pm.
Stradbally will host Portlaoise with both of these rivals having won their previous two games.
At the same time, bottom side Graiguecullen face O’Dempsey’s while the remaining two games take place at 8pm.
Two struggling sides, and last year’s promoted teams, Portarlington and Ballylinan go head to head at 8pm while leaders St Joseph’s face The Heath at the same time in Kellyville.
In Division 1B, all three games take place at 7.15pm. Leaders Arles-Kilcruise travel to Crettyard who won for the first time last week.
Elsewhere, Killeshin host winless Rosenallis while neighbours Emo and Mountmellick clash in the other game.
While in Division 2, high flying Courtwood will look to make it five wins on the trot when they play Timahoe.
Eddie Kinsella’s men have been in stunning form this year and after this game, they will have a Kelly Cup semi final against Stradbally to look forward to on Sunday.
All of these games were originally fixed for the weekend but it is understood that the Laois footballers are going on a training camp and the games were brought forward to facilitate that.
We will have reports on all of the games this evening so make sure to check back in with the site tonight.
