Today has been one of the nicest Saturday’s of the year but there wasn’t actually that many sporting events of note.
In Ladies football, the Laois U-14s have qualified for the Leinster ‘C’ football final after a big win over neighbours Carlow in Ballylinan.
We also had the conclusion of the Palmer Cup where Abbeyleix were crowned champions and one round of the ACHL Division 1 league but that was the height of the GAA action.
After that, there were a handful of underage soccer games in the CCFL. Portlaoise U-19s reached the semi finals of the cup after thumping Mullingar and will now play Clongowes Wood.
