Sr. Mary Laurance, Little Sisters of the Poor. Died in Glascow, Scotland. Predeceased by her brothers. Sadly missed by her community, her sisters Christina, Mary, Phil, Patricia, Anne and Bernadette, relatives and friends. Reposing at the Convent in Glascow on Thursday. Requiem Mass on Friday morning at 10am. Burial afterwards in the Convent Cemetery.

Colt, Ballyroan, Laois

Kavanagh, Colt, Ballyroan. May 5th 2018 Peacefully in the care of the staff of Portlaoise Regional Hosp. Surrounded by his loving family. Tony, beloved husband of Ann and father of the late infant John. Dearly loved dad to Leo, Adrian, Majella and Martina and cherished grandfather to Tara and Aaron. Deeply regretted by his loving family, bros in law, sisters in law, son in law Max, nephews, nieces, relatives, neighbours and friends. Reposing at his residence from 2 pm on Sunday with rosary at 8 pm on Sunday evening. Removal on Monday to St Fintan’s Church, Raheen to arrive for 11.30 am requiem Mass. Interment afterwards in the adjoining cemetery. House private on Monday please.

James (Jimmy) Lynam
Finglas West, Dublin / Emo, Laois

Lynam, James (Jimmy) (Finglas West and formerly of Emo, Co. Laois and late of Unidare) – May 4th, 2018, (peacefully) at Connolly Hospital, surrounded by his loving family. Loving father of the late Teresa and brother of the late Mary O’Rourke. Sadly missed by his heartbroken wife Elizabeth (Betty), sons Eddie, Maurice, Shay, daughter Marie, daughter-in-law Jean, son-in-law Albert, grandchildren Ed, Andy, Dave, Alan, Christine and Matt, 13 great-grandchildren, brother-in-law Bob, nephews, nieces, neighbours and friends. Reposing in Fanagans Funeral Home, Church Street, Finglas, on Tuesday with family in attendance between 4 pm and 6 pm. Removal on Wednesday morning to the Church of The Annunciation, Finglas West, arriving for 10 am Requiem Mass. Funeral thereafter to Glasnevin Crematorium. Family flowers only, please. Donations, in lieu, if desired, Multiple Sclerosis Society of Ireland.

Maud Dunne (née Prescott)
“The Shop” Raheen, Mountrath, Laois

Died 1st May 2018, surrounded by her loving family, predeceased by her husband Paddy. Sadly missed by her loving daughters Marie and Annette, sons Vincent and Brendan, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, son-in-law, nieces, nephews, extended family, relatives, neighbours and friends. May Maud Rest In Peace.

Reposing at her home from 4.0’clock on Thursday evening (3rd May 2018), with Rosary at 9pm. Removal on Friday morning to St. Fintan’s Church, Raheen, for Funeral Mass at 12 noon, followed by Burial in the adjoining cemetery. Family time on Friday morning please

Unexpectedly at his Residence. Rest In Peace. Deeply regretted by his loving wife Eileen, family John, Pat, Joe, Mag,Peter, Chris and Martina, brother Fr Joe(Melbourne), grandchildren, great-grandchildren, in-laws, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Reposing at Maher’s Chapel of Rest Portarlington on Monday from 5pm with Rosary at 8pm. Removal on Tuesday at 11:15am arriving St Michael’s Church, Portarlington for Requiem Mass at 12 noon. Funeral afterwards to St Michael’s Cemetery, Portarlington.

Stanley (Sammy) White
Crannagh, Mountrath, Laois
 Stanley (Sammy) White, Crannagh, Mountrath, Co. Laois. Sammy has died peacefully in the loving care of all the staff at Ballard Nursing Home, Portlaoise. He will be remembered with much love and happy memories by his sister Doris, his nieces Moira and Oonagh and his nephew Denis as well as his great nephews and great niece and especially by his many wonderful close friends and neighbours.

Reposing at his home in Crannagh, Mountrath on Thursday, 3rd May 2018 from 7pm until 9pm. His funeral will take place on Friday, 4th May at 11am at Portlaoise Methodist Church. Burial in St. John The Baptist Church Grounds, Ballyfin.

Byrne, Springfield, Ballacolla, Co. Laois. April 30th 2018. Peacefully at the Midlands Regional Hospital, Portlaoise. Michael predeceased by his wife Mary and his grandchild Jason. Deeply regretted by his family Mary, Michael, Martina, Kay and Donal, sons-in-law, daughter-in-law and his beloved grandchildren Amanda, Johnathan, Mary, Yvonne, Darren, Ciarán, Colin, Cormac, Connor, Emma, Alan, Jack and Tom, his sisters Sheila and Kathleen, brother-in-law, sister-in-law, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends.

Reposing at his daughter Kay’s residence (Springfield) on Thursday from 4pm with rosary at 9pm. Funeral mass in St. Canice’s Church, Clough on Friday at 12 noon followed by burial in Clough cemetery. Donations can be made at Michael’s funeral to Laois Hospice. May His Gentle Soul Rest In Peace.
James Gannon
Mount Merrion, Dublin / Portlaoise, Laois

Peacefully in the devoted care of Dr Eoin Tiernan, the nurses and the Staff of St. Vincent’s Private Hospital. Beloved and dearly loved husband of Maeve and the late Anne. He will be deeply missed by his sons Paul, Jimmy, and Bill, daughters Mary, Sarah and Carina, sons and daughters-in-law, brothers, Anthony and Ignatius, sisters Gabe and Gertie, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, his cherished grandchildren, nieces and nephews, extended family and a wide circle of friends.

Jim will repose in Fanagans Funeral Home, Dundrum, Dublin 14 on Wednesday evening, May 2nd. From 5pm to 7pm. Funeral Mass in the Church of St. Thérèse, Mount Merrion on Thursday morning, May 3rd at 10am followed by burial at Deans Grange Cemetery. Family flowers only please, donations, if desired, to the Fr McVerry Trust. House private.
