It was a very busy Sunday on the GAA front.
The Laois Ladies reached the Leinster Intermediate football final in the afternoon and earlier that morning, we had one game in Division 1 of the football league.
Portarlington moved out of the dropzone in Division 1A following a comprehensive 13 point win over Portlaoise.
First half goals from Jason Ward and Dave Condron did the trick for Portarlington as they built up a lead and inflicted a defeat upon Portlaoise that leaves their league final aspirations in tatters.
There was also a dramatic night in Division 1 of the hurling league where results conspired that neither had any team made the final or been relegated.
