O’Dempsey’s edge closer to Division 1A final and all tonight’s GAA results

Defending league champions O’Dempsey’s are one step closer to qualifying for the Division 1A final following tonight’s win over Graiguecullen.

In a very close game, goals from Michael Finlay and Daithi Howlin were the difference as O’Dempsey’s moved two points clear of The Heath in second with two games to go.

They led by 1-6 to 0-8 at the break and pushed on to win by two in the end.

Elsewhere, it was a dramatic night of walkovers. Ballylinan gave Portarlington one and then pulled out of the league altogether.

That decision means St Joseph’s have now officially qualified for the league final as they cannot be caught at the top.

While at the bottom, Stradbally gave a walkover to Portlaoise and must now defeat The Heath in their last game to have any chance of staying up.
