Gardai launch investigation after crash in Laois requires air ambulance

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to a hit and run

Gardai are investigating the circumstances of a road traffic collision in Portlaoise.

The incident occurred at Kyletalesha, Portlaoise at around 12.50pm on Friday, June 22.

It resulted in a man being airlifted to hospital from the busy Portlaoise road.

The man was the sole occupant of the car on the stretch of the L2117 bog road at Kyletalesha, Portlaoise near the landfill.

One male was removed from the car with very serious injuries and was transferred to hospital by the Aer Corps AC112 helicopter.

Portlaoise and Mountmellick fire services, gardai and ambulance attended the scene.

Investigating Gardai are anxious to speak to any person who was travelling in the area.

Or any motorists that may have ‘dash cam’ footage to contact.
